I wouldn't go with hourly rate or else you'd like to lock yourself in a specific setup. Instead I'd calculate how much it would take me + my desired h rate but then I'd offer a fixed project price with some kind of buffer in case some projects take longer

Hey folks, I have a content strategy related question. One of my prospects asked me to prepare an estimation for growth and traffic to lead conversion for the months we're supposed to collaborate. This estimation takes only organic search into account as we want to separate it from other channels.

did someone did such estimations before? From my experience, the first 3months or even 6months are rather unpredictable and work is focused on establishing a content program. Yet, I think they'd like to get specific estimate to set goals that are challenging. I prepared some growth insights but would love to pick other strategists' brains. 😄

To folks who work with a customer (often C-level, say CEO of company) that doesn't quite get marketing, especially when it comes to content strategy.
• To what extend do you educate your customer (said CEO or anyone who's deciding whether to continue working with you or not)?
• To what extend do you follow their small-low impact requests (like say, adding a one line of product mention in a piece of content that's educational so as a marketer you wouldn't do -- but you "pick your battles").
I'm a bit on the fence about this and looking for other freelancers' experiences and interesting cases. This post is only about relationship between a freelancer and customer. 🙂

for you internally, how do you do the calculations? Like you estimate how much it will take you and then how much you'd like to have per hour and send a project price? Or is it based on other factors.

Because technically, there should be a difference in price, e.g.,:
• if you get a brief + keywords + expert interview ready and you just write and implement feedback
• you do end-to-end creation with strategy
