Hi everyone, I'm nearly six years into my career, and I feel I need mentorship and guidance to figure out my next steps and how to prioritize my upskilling.

Do you have any career mentors? How did you find them?

Hi guys, turns out its a fustercluck. Most of my major traffic and leads generating pages are down since June and have now stabilized @low levels.
Our dev also made some unasked for redirects for a big keyword that's affecting one large keyword.

@Erik Dietrich: Most of the big pages have lost traffic but are stable low. Leads are absolutely tanking though.
@Kim Peterson: I've recently started posting guest posts ghost writing for my CEO. We socialize our content a lot. The big problem with guest post is the time spend, which is hard to do with just a 2-member marketing team. I'm having a hard time finding publications, pitching ideas to the CEO, getting his attention enough to pick topics, write, and then wait for publications. Hope that makes sense?

Hi everyone, I'm having a really hard time with getting leads and traffic right now. I'm the content lead for a small SaaS B2B company in a specific niche.
• Individual blogs I am writing and pushing out will take time to start generating leads. But they seem to be ranking.
• I seem to be getting some AI overviews on Google but have no way to monitor which ones I'm getting ranked on aside from brute force googling.
• Organic traffic has dropped despite website fixes, refreshed, and bottom funnel keywords
• Despite having roughly the same amount of (low) traffic, the SQOs are all over the map. In the last three weeks, I have had the same amount of (low) traffic for 19, 25, and 7 (!) SQOs respectively. 7 is the lowest we have ever had! Our weekly average is 23.
• It's utterly baffling and I don't want to keep going back to my (very patient) CEO with excuses about volatility, Google updates etc.
Any advice would be much appreciated on this thread.

Mentorship!

Hi everyone! I'm 5-ish years into my career and am starting to feel the need for career guidance and mentorship. I'm a B2B Content Marketing Lead currently in Toronto, Canada. I've done some reading of my own, but I want advice from the trenches. So I ask y'all:

• What is the best way to secure a mentorship?

You guys made amazing points...I'm feeling a bit better. So I'll respond to y'all as best as I can:
a) @George Araman: I'm working on Google Ads. Doing the Udemy course with Issac Rudansky. What do I need to learn (aside from data science) that will equip me for Web3?
b) @Melissa Zehner: I completely agree with you. I had a rough meeting with my CEO today. He was going over the wonder's of ChatGPT3. I was telling him how you cannot write a blog on it because Google will rank them down. But I feel like he was so blinded by how good it is at first go that he didn't hear anything I was saying. Hope I don't end up a victim of that blindness.
c) @Stephen Jeske: Yeah, I agree. I told my boss today that most of the content he is seeing will be used by our competitors, but he was blinded by his positive feelings about ChatGPT3. You're right about subject matter expertise; it still can't do case studies, or unique insight in blogs etc. Still, I'm nervous as hell. I'm new to the country and don't have too much of a support system yet.
d) @Kaleena Stroud: Interesting! What is copy strategy as a service? Haven't heard of it before.

Hey Superpathers, I think I need some guidance and assurance here, people.

I tried the AI Jasper and Rytr today, and I'm kind of depressed. Most CEOs don't think they need the best writers, just writers who are good enough.

These two tools certainly fit the good enough category.

There's a recession on the horizon and tech companies (including mine) are laying off staff.

Seriously, are junior copywriters doomed?
What should I upskill in to stay employed?
