Hey everyone! I’ve been a content strategist and writer for three years but I’m considering doing some freelancing on the side.

How do you fix your pricing structures?
How do you know when a person is paying you too low?

I work with companies in the American market. 🙂

Thank you so much! I love you guys; you’re incredibly helpful.

Hi, I've been getting started with freelance writing recently, and have been figuring this out too.

What I've been doing, is looking up info on what current writing rates are. It'd be up to you to pick rates (i.e. per project, or retainer, etc) that seem fair to you, based on your experience level and whatnot...

The next step is just going out and talking to potential clients. If your rates are too high, they're probably going to just ghost you, or say they're not interested. If that happens, try lowering your rates a bit for the next potential client, and see what they say. That's how you find a sweet spot.

Thank you! Do you use services that curate clients, like Skyword?
