lol yes I was going to say, good lung capacity runs in the family ๐Ÿ˜‚

#running - January 22, 2025 at 09:39 PM

His daughter wasn't a runner. I think if she had been I would have then known about him. But she is an opera singer now!

#running - January 22, 2025 at 09:39 PM

unfortunately for my lactate threshold, no!

#running - January 22, 2025 at 09:16 PM

I'm kind of kicking myself nowadays for not even knowing what I had ๐Ÿ˜‚

#running - January 22, 2025 at 09:15 PM

I never even knew he was famous until I was an adult!

#running - January 22, 2025 at 09:15 PM

No, Cortland NY! he coached at SUNY Cortland and taught in the PE department. They still live there now. Next to my grandfather actually lol

#running - January 22, 2025 at 08:46 PM

I hadn't heard of this though! Still I am less concerned with exact methodology at this stage in my running life, and also I like that you can train for anything โ€” any distance race, just getting back into shape, etc

#running - January 22, 2025 at 08:45 PM

fun fact, I grew up friends with Jack Daniels' daughter

#running - January 22, 2025 at 05:22 PM

Has anyone else used Runna for training plans? I'm highkey very impressed with it

#running - January 08, 2025 at 06:40 PM

omg what a way to just dive in (literally)

#running - January 08, 2025 at 05:34 PM

Anyone have any exciting races on the calendar this year? I am running the Wineglass Half Marathon in Corning, NY in October. It's going to be absolutely gorgeous ๐Ÿ‚ and the course is super fast (a lot of people in this region run the full Wineglass Marathon to BQ).

#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - November 26, 2024 at 07:32 PM

this syracuse gal approves ๐ŸŠ

#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - May 29, 2024 at 06:22 PM

Exciting stuff here!!

If you really want to know...I'm 36 weeks pregnant, so that should tell you a lot about how I'm doing. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Did you know that it's suuuuper common for pregnancy to cause carpal tunnel thanks to fluid retention? Fun times! So much to do before I'm out, and the clock is ticking...I just don't know when it's going to go off!

Thanks for keeping us up to speed on all the things, Eric!

At the moment Bubble just does web apps, but a ton of customers have used wrappers to create native mobile versions and get listed in app stores. We also have a public beta of our own native mobile app builder coming later this year (itโ€™s going through an internal alpha right now!)

#general - May 16, 2024 at 04:51 PM

Also Iโ€™m pretty sure @jimmy is building a really cool Superpath platform with a no-code tool right now

#general - May 16, 2024 at 04:50 PM

Iโ€™m biased because I work at Bubble lol, but I can promise you that if you pick a full-stack no-code tool like bubble, they are NOT just for MVPs. We have enterprise-size companies building on bubble, startups who have raise millions or been acquired for millions, etc!

#general - February 26, 2024 at 05:26 PM

Hot take, but I think the best team building ice breakers are the ones that have nothing to do with marketing or work. It's nice to remember that everyone on the call is a wholistic person, not just an employee of the company! Something like guilty pleasures or rare talents is so fun.

#running - February 06, 2024 at 05:58 PM

You got this!! Iโ€™ve also built myself plans like these ^ (@Rachel weโ€™re soulmates) using the 10% increase rule and also the guideline that 80% of your weekly miles should be at a truly easy pace (mine is literally like 12 min/mile lol), with the other 20% to tempo and speed work. And donโ€™t forget to get strength training in there to prevent injury!!

#running - February 05, 2024 at 07:00 PM

Agreed!!

Highly recommend the Fast Women newsletter for anyone who wants to stay in the loop on women's pro running. This recap of Saturday's marathon trials is great!

I do think it's a rule of the universe that users acquired by paid channels are lower quality (ie convert to paid less often) than those who come from organic channels. Of course, especially in the beginning, organic channels may not get you the TOFU numbers you need. Paid ad teams I've worked with in the past have done a lot of fiddling with their target audiences to find the populations most likely to convert to paid and then funneled more ads to them than others.

#content-collab - January 09, 2024 at 07:20 PM

Oooh that is the insight I needed Melissa, thank you! I have never submitted, only responded

#content-collab - January 09, 2024 at 07:16 PM

Yeah Semrush is "Authority Score" but I guess I'm just surprised to find such a big delta!

#general - January 09, 2024 at 07:10 PM

Yes!! Also I love the name you chose so much!

#content-collab - January 09, 2024 at 07:10 PM

This might be a silly question, but is there an industry standard or most common way of measuring DA that we think most people submitting HaB2BW are using? My company uses Semrush and when I search for DAs to validate, I get much lower numbers than what's usually in the posting.

#freelance-talk - December 15, 2023 at 02:57 PM

I'm there but I talk about books, not marketing lol. @deedireads!

#general - December 14, 2023 at 07:05 PM

FWIW I totally agree that H3s need to be bigger than H4s!

#running - November 20, 2023 at 08:45 PM

I'm also @GoGoGadgetDeedi on Peloton if anyone is there lol

Okay first of all, do not miss the Fast Women newsletter!!

Secondly, I recently went down a rabbit hole of memoir/manifestos by professional women runners and it has been AWESOME. The audiobooks are perfect for listening to on runs too, very motivational! Standouts include:
โ€ข Good for a Girl: A Woman Running in a Man's World by Lauren Fleshman
โ€ข Choosing to Run by Des Linden
โ€ข Running While Black by Alison Mariella Dรฉsir

#running - November 16, 2023 at 04:52 PM

I'm still using my apple watch but I have an arm strap for my iFit treadmill and they're generally in sync! Also it was nice that my treadmill has a max HR test feature, because I learned my max HR is 203 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ (220 minus my age, yeah right lol)

#running - November 16, 2023 at 04:50 PM

Yes! The first time I internalized that I could actually go out and run in Z2 and it was a) productive and b) not miserable was life changing

#running - November 15, 2023 at 10:06 PM

I'm on a bit of hiatus from running at the moment, but I've done three half marathons and am a big proponent of 80/20 zone training (aka I am slow and proud, lol)

#general - November 06, 2023 at 10:51 PM

I would very much be down

#general - November 05, 2023 at 05:52 PM

Thatโ€™s a beautifully executed NYC Marathon, @Jimmy Daly (Superpath)!! Congrats! ๐Ÿ’จ ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ†

#pets - October 31, 2023 at 07:53 PM

#pets - October 31, 2023 at 06:35 PM

Hey Mukesh, got your email. I'm still in research mode but will reach out if/when it's time for me to explore more in depth!

#general - September 07, 2023 at 05:16 PM

I was a lowly peon at a large company when we worked with them

#general - September 07, 2023 at 05:15 PM

I worked with them a LONG time ago, like 2017. I donโ€™t remember too much but definitely donโ€™t have like, bad memories if that makes sense

#general - September 07, 2023 at 03:03 PM

@Erik Dietrich Mostly choosing and leaving in place, although right now we don't have categories and I'd like to implement those, so kind of halfway?

#general - September 07, 2023 at 01:36 PM

Has anyone worked with a consultant to manage a blog migration project? Iโ€™d like to have someone who can help us choose a CMS based on our needs, make sure all the SEO requirements and best practices are accounted for along the way, PM the project itself, etc. If yes, Iโ€™d love to hear about your experience.

#general - August 22, 2023 at 11:35 AM

At Bubble, we have three main marketing priorities: 1) TOFU/growth/awareness, 2) community development, 3) marketplace. And I was able to get clarity that these should represent 50%/25%/25% of resources. SEO is primarily part of bucket A, which helps make it clear why there are only so many blog posts we do "for SEO" and leaves space for posts with other primary purposes and distribution channels.

#general - August 09, 2023 at 09:43 PM

the company's goals, with numbers!
