Iβve seen a lot of Vancouver companies struggle with growth in the past 10 years Iβve lived here and whether this is being blamed on marketing teams or not I donβt know.
Iβd also say that the marketing teams I worked on were very diplomatic and risk-adverse which stalled campaigns, potentially giving marketing teams a bad rep.
And to Ericβs point: yeah, a lot of folks will be working remotely for US companies because often the salary is literally double the YVR market, making top-talent hard to find.

The UK tends to rely more on dry, sarcastic, ironic, self-deprecating humour. We talk a lot in idioms and slang.
Brits tend to enjoy wordplay and subtle humour in messaging and comms.
We tend to talk over other people and conversation is less "you say something, then I say something" -- it's more a melting pot of overlapping thoughts and conversation. Brits love a cultural reference!
Brits don't say "how you doing"? We say "you alright?" as a greeting but we don't want to hear how you are -- it's more a hello.
There's a strong emphasis on shared rituals and routines in England e.g., going to the pub, going to the football etc.
Networking is more long-term and genuine; people don't network necessarily to hunt opportunities, it's more understated.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head!

What are the company's payment terms? What date did you request the invoice to be paid by? Most businesses I work with have net 30 payment terms so 6 business days is quite a short amount of time to expect payment.

Yes! Used them for 10+ years. Don't have a bad word to say except obviously their transfer fees have increased over that time period but still cheaper than a bank.
If you're self-employed the transfer fees are also a deductible on your taxes which is pretty sweet!

Quick question for any social media managers out there. How often do you check your analytics? Daily, weekly, or monthly? I kinda assume you look on a daily basis and made on the fly adjustments to your strategy and then produce a weekly or monthly report for stakeholders but would love some insights from folks in the know! β¨

@Carrie A great tip is to read it on your desktop/mac etc, and then do another edit on your phone. I always catch little tweaks doing this!
