@Laurel Martello I'll keep you posted! Was supposed to be in January but then January happened π Hopefully Feb/March!

Content Harmony - for research and outlining (it is excellent). I use my clients' Clearscope. I pay for Bluedot which is a combo of Loom, Grain, and Zoom (highly recommend).

Hello all! Rosie here, been living in Madrid for 20 years! (Grew up in London, family's in the US, no idea where I'm from anymore :D)
#local-spain - January 23, 2025 at 11:45 AM
Makes sense to me! Seems like we're all over :)
#local-spain - January 23, 2025 at 11:44 AM
I had no idea how many Spain based Superpath peeps there were! I've been planning on organising some kind of Madrid based content meetup if any of you are ever here?
#local-spain - January 22, 2025 at 01:33 PM
That sounds pretty awesome (from the center of chilly, land-locked Madrid π )
#local-spain - January 21, 2025 at 09:21 PM
How are you finding it Michelle?
#local-spain - January 21, 2025 at 09:20 PM
Great to meet you Raquel!
#local-spain - January 21, 2025 at 07:28 PM
Cool! Valencia is wonderful!
#local-spain - January 21, 2025 at 05:35 PM
Hello Spanish Superpathians π (I'm in Madrid, not Barcelona, but close enough!)
#freelance-talk - December 03, 2024 at 11:17 AM
Well, I don't know which nationality this client is in, but I do know that under e.g. European law, you have to be very clear not to treat freelancers as team members, or you start to owe them employee contracts and benefits.
#freelance-talk - December 03, 2024 at 10:54 AM
They're also getting into a bit of a legal grey area by treating you as team members.
#content-collab - November 23, 2024 at 08:50 AM
Thank you all!!
#freelance-gigs - November 22, 2024 at 12:30 PM
@Emma Siemasko might be a good fit too, potentially. (Wish I could apply! I'm a US citizen but not based there.)
#content-collab - November 20, 2024 at 09:31 AM
I'm researching an article about over-relying on AI in content creation (for Relato). I'd love to hear from you all on the following:
Where is the line from using AI as a tool to over-relying on it?
Does using AI kill your creativity, or help you get past the blank page?
How can you keep your content sounding human? (And should you?
And...is it going to take all our jobs in a few years? If not, why not?
#freelance-talk - November 18, 2024 at 02:17 PM
I find it helpful to read a couple of existing blogs (or sections) out loud. Also podcasts/webinars are a great resource, especially when they feature the founder.

Hehe thank you for the feedback @Atif Mahmood - if I ever decide to use my website for anything other than sharing portfolio links I'll get on that (along with a bunch of other things that would need fixing.)

π
#general - November 13, 2024 at 09:02 AM
I started with WordPress but it just took me too long (I'm wildly untechnical :D) so I moved over to Squarespace and much happier. I just wanted a very basic portfolio site that I could update really quickly, and that's what I have now π
#general - October 29, 2024 at 01:57 PM
Currently researching and writing an article about this - gimme a week and I should have a good answer for you π
#general - October 22, 2024 at 04:15 PM
Here's one I wrote for Lattice recently, if it helps:
#freelance-talk - October 16, 2024 at 08:24 AM
FWIW, sales always gets budget!
#general - September 18, 2024 at 08:57 AM
Who are they wanting to connect with via the VP of Product account? Other product leads?
#content-collab - September 12, 2024 at 10:19 AM
@Yonit aaaaaarghhhhh this one just hurts!
#content-collab - September 12, 2024 at 10:19 AM
@Brinda Gulati that's rough. "As Content Lead, in theory, I was supposed to have final say, but by the time it reached the top, the feedback process had become a blackbox." - I'm hearing a lot of this!
#content-collab - September 10, 2024 at 10:25 AM
@Brinda Gulati sure does! What do you think happened? Any takeaways or learnings for you?
#content-collab - September 09, 2024 at 09:34 AM
Here's a new one for you - I'm looking for content leads to talk about their biggest f*ck ups. I'd love to hear from you about the strategies that crashed and burned. What went wrong, why do you think it went wrong, and what did you learn? If you're up for helping others learn from your mistakes (and adding some transparency to the content industry) I'd love to hear from you! This is for an article for Relato. (We can withhold your name if needed!)

I previously used journoportfolio because it was free. Now I have a very basic website on Squarespace with some links. If I'm pitching, I usually just send the 2 most relevant links anyway. I tinkered with Authory but I admit I don't think I get it. I don't really want to list everything I've ever written on any topic. I mean, it's a lot - and only a fraction of it will be relevant to any given prospect. (Plus, some is old and embarrassing π ) Perhaps I need to revisit.
#general - August 30, 2024 at 09:23 AM
@Ben Regier it can also be helpful to just move away from the texts for a sec and just think - what overall story are we telling here? What do I broadly remember about the conversations? I also like using AI meeting summaries for this. Trying to hold multiple interviews in your head at the same time is kinda stressful - but if you have a framework in mind then the themes will jump out at you.
#general - July 23, 2024 at 07:34 PM
Catalyst (CS enablement software) might also be a good example - lots of strong opinion and hot takes over pure seo.
#general - July 11, 2024 at 02:33 PM
From a writer perspective, I love it for on-page SEO editing right in the google doc
#general - July 11, 2024 at 02:32 PM
Here's @Eric Doty (Superpath) doing a Loom about it:
(From another thread!)#general - July 05, 2024 at 10:04 AM
I also think you can find a competitive edge for the featured snippet by using easy to understand, jargon free language. As @Brinda Gulati points out, clearest answer wins - so avoiding sounding too pompous or AI generated can help.
#general - July 05, 2024 at 10:02 AM
One way to define it without being patronising is to clear up any misunderstandings that people can have about the term. Here's an example (keyword being defined is quote to cash):
"Quote-to-cash (QTC) is the term for the business process that begins when you prepare a quote for a prospect, and finishes when you recognize the revenue from the sale.
Itβs sometimes confused with order-to-cash (OTC) β but OTC just includes the steps from receiving an order onwards. QTC is the full end-to-end sales process, including the initial Configure Price Quote."

Thanks Tom, this is great!!

What do you all think about founder-led content marketing? Any tips for making it work? Anything you think people get wrong about it? Any brands you think are killing it?
I'd love to hear from marketers or founders who have stories to tell about founder-led marketing (researching for an article for Relato).
#general - May 27, 2024 at 09:42 AM
tends to share good and bad examples in his LI posts
#content-collab - April 29, 2024 at 10:25 AM
asking specifically about the ROI of content marketing here, rather than ads @Mohit Verma. If I've understood your question correctly?
#content-collab - April 29, 2024 at 10:09 AM
I'm researching an article on content measurement (for Relato). I'd love to hear from you all on the following: 1) What are the right metrics to measure for content? Which ones are a waste of time? 2) Why do content people get so stressed out about measurement? 3) Has the way you measure content changed in recent years, and if so why?
#content-collab - April 18, 2024 at 03:56 PM
Thanks @Nupur Mittal!
#content-collab - April 18, 2024 at 08:13 AM
I'm researching a piece on measuring content results. Who should I talk to? I'd love some nuanced/original takes.
#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - April 12, 2024 at 05:46 AM
This is Lucie :)
#content-collab - April 09, 2024 at 06:26 AM
Sure! same here. we content peeps gotta stick together π

These days, I do ok, but it was rough starting out. My two tips for staying positive were 1) pitch enough that I couldn't actually remember what pitches I had out there π That way, each individual pitch didn't loom so large. And 2) I tried to treat it as a business problem, not a me problem. So, if my pitch wasn't working, instead of going with my first emotional response (in my case, it was along the lines of "Maybe I'm just not good enough, I'll never make this work, etc.) I tried to analyze - OK, is it that I'm not pitching the right people, or that the pitch itself is the issue? Is it that I'm pitching in situations where the competition is incredibly high? Is this a positioning issue? Etc. Personally, I found those two mindset shifts were pretty helpful. I mean, I've been doing this for 8 years, and I have a solid business, but I still don't land every pitch, so dealing with rejection is a good skill to practice in my experience. I'm sorry you're struggling, @Clark Herman - do feel free to DM me if I can be helpful.

hey, happy birthday @Eric Doty (Superpath)! thank you for everything you do π₯³
#freelance-talk - March 28, 2024 at 10:12 AM
This sounds like a CMS error for sure - I had my name all over an old client's website on content I never wrote. I doubt it's malicious! I'd just ask them to fix it.
#general - March 21, 2024 at 03:54 PM
Also - damn, Help A B2B Writer got really, really good again! Hats off @Jimmy Daly (Superpath) - think you fixed the AI issue.
#general - March 20, 2024 at 05:53 PM
Content Harmony for making research quicker. also excellent for seo outlining. And Clearscope for in doc SEO.
#freelance-talk - March 20, 2024 at 10:42 AM
Mine? I lowered the bar π I realized I was never going to post consistently if I told myself I had to create images and write all these perfect posts and do carousels and what not. So I just decided I'd show up every weekday for a year, and share everything I wish I'd known when I was starting out as a freelance later. A year on, I have 5000 more followers than when I started, and 842,655 impressions, which I know is not a huge crazy number but I'm happy with it π
#freelance-talk - March 19, 2024 at 09:58 AM
You might need one if you download a lot of gated content (like reports for research, for instance). They usually require a "work email." I got mine via my website (Squarespace comes with Google workspace integration).
