Hmm. Well, didn't expect that kind of response. It certainly wasn't intended to be sexist – more a light-heated critique of politics and organizations using appealing smokescreens to mask their internal machinations. Not convinced this is the community for me. I'll respectfully depart.

But that lasted about 2 months! The guy that hired me got fired! So I networked like crazy and let it be known that I was available for work.

Pretty much. I had a couple and decided that if I could get one of them to commit to a certain number of hours/retainer I could make the jump.

I was doing similar for a good while – had a full-time copywriting job and sidegigging too. But the leap to fulltime freelance was always endgame for me.
