It's worth checking just how intrusive it is. We (have to) require freelancers to agree to some basic security principles using Vanta for SOC2, but that's different than installing Vanta on your personal machine. The latter is definitely a red flag, but I suspect that's going beyond what SOC2 requires (which is typically annoying but not totally bananas).

This is super interesting. I think an additional wrinkle is that these longform podcasts are (often) created to be cut into shortform video clips on social media, where the organic reach can be much broader. The editorial effort is often put into the clips, not the original thing.

This is fascinating. I'd be super-interested to see a global breakdown, though perhaps you don't have enough respondents to make that statistically meaningful. But folks outside the US typically get paid less, and that might be dragging down some of the data. (He says, speculating wildly).

I'm a contractor in New Zealand, and I use a service called HNRY, which has recently expanded to Australia. They made it all a million times easier.
They give really great support, handle invoicing, and pay tax and other deductions as you go. Also good for managing expenses. Highly recommended!

I don’t like [Sic] because it conveys ‘we write well’ rather than ‘we get results.' And ‘amp’ makes me think of Google AMP
