I'd be interested, please reach out.

An interesting variant of the game would be to identify what a cookie cutter is used for by shape. There's a whole subreddit that puzzles these out and it's hilarious.

I was inspired enough by the Hallmark game that I made my own version for our family christmas party (it was a hit) -

thanks @Renga Padmanabhan - hope you're doing well!

I just published a big article announcing a new framework for SEO's and content strategists to use in ranking in AI search services like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.
#content-collab - October 27, 2024 at 05:08 PM
You could actually ask ChatGPT for bad examples
#promo - October 27, 2024 at 04:29 PM
Have you looked at any of the open and local models? Asking bc they are being designed without a lot of those constraints
#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - October 17, 2024 at 12:46 AM
Well, fwiw - I'm pretty much doing nothing but working on AI Search optimization at this point (along with launching a SaaS to help track and find opportunities in this space).
#general - October 11, 2024 at 09:18 PM
I’m very done this for both Wordpress and ButterCMS
#general - October 11, 2024 at 03:46 PM
@Hrishi Mittal fellow dev here, I write all of my articles in VSCode/Cursor with the Markdown extension. It will preview in a separate pane. I paste it into Grammarly for checking (which preserves markdown) and then back into VSCode. The markdown extension lets you do a "Copy As HTML" which I then paste into the CMS. I leave placeholders for images.

Important note: it’s a felony to write a letter and pretend you are a lawyer (just don’t make up a fake lawyer name or something)
#general - October 03, 2024 at 03:48 PM
A "lawyer letter" is pretty reasonable thing to do and depending on how much you're owed worth it
#general - October 02, 2024 at 08:13 PM
If it's direct optimization (like keyword density, topic clusters, etc.) I'd probably just use ChatGPT or NotebookLM. If it's for more things like keyword targeting its not quite free, but like $10 / year is Keywords Everywhere (the chrome extension) and then Keywords which pairs nicely with
- and then use both ChatGPT (or whatever LLM) and bit of a self plug, but Knowatoa to show overall brand gap analysis in AI Search.#general - October 02, 2024 at 10:34 AM
Something I've done to use up a stipend like that is just go on a massive buying spree of books on Amazon.
#content-collab - September 30, 2024 at 04:27 PM
@Ruth Favela that sounds super interesting - I'd also like to hear more about your role
#content-collab - September 29, 2024 at 12:06 PM
Yes - so many thoughts
#freelance-talk - September 27, 2024 at 04:36 PM
Well, the purpose of the cold email spam domains is that they’re “pre-warmed”
#general - September 27, 2024 at 11:34 AM
I had ChatGPT summarize it -
#general - September 27, 2024 at 11:28 AM
I think that would work if it's "just" a calculator if it's more complicated you'd probably need to write code. FWIW - I really like these as a form of content (I run
and , both of which are essentially a blog post or documentation made into a form like this)#general - September 27, 2024 at 09:23 AM
@Hrishi Mittal that's what I was going to suggest as well, but they do seem to have moved on to more of an ai no code builder.
#freelance-talk - September 27, 2024 at 09:22 AM
@Catherine Woodard - you're already on
#freelance-talk - September 26, 2024 at 11:06 PM
Well, kinda - I'd at least run them all through a blacklist checker
#general - September 26, 2024 at 07:31 PM
Very cool! Speakers look great.
#general - September 26, 2024 at 07:05 PM
It came up in the webinar that a good chunk of folks are going to Sparktogether in a couple weeks, so I thought I'd just open this thread up to say 👋 to folks beforehand.
#general - September 26, 2024 at 06:46 PM
At the very end they did say they were going to send out the recording, and they were going to maybe try and clean up the questions and chat and send that out as well.
#general - September 26, 2024 at 05:39 PM
FYI - there's a SuperPath webinar happening right now with "The Content Studio"
#general - September 26, 2024 at 05:06 PM
The ones I've done have been mostly technical. We ran one for one of our SaaS along with a consultancy. Zero competitive overlap, both able to share information, etc. actually see them a lot more in the info space where folks will team up.
#intros - September 26, 2024 at 10:38 AM
Hey, I think we're Twitter friends
#general - September 25, 2024 at 08:58 PM
I reach out to marketing folks on social media, in this and other slacks, etc.
#general - September 25, 2024 at 08:58 PM
The one I see a lot more commonly are co-marketing webinars where there is some synergy between groups.
#general - September 25, 2024 at 01:32 PM
@Nishrath yeah - I'm not disagreeing with any of that, this was more about positioning to your prospective clients and then to @Nathan Roach’s point about setting and managing expectations. There are certainly areas of marketing expertise I couldn't credibly advise people on (which is why I'm in this community, to learn).
#general - September 25, 2024 at 11:49 AM
Both things can be true - traditional search updates + re rankings + ai search cannibalization
#general - September 25, 2024 at 11:48 AM
Agree with @Nathan Roach (but then I'm a techie) - depending on what you're offering it could be a good or bad pitch, but it's definitely setting a high expectation. If you're looking to do new things, you could expand outward some without saying you also do everything
#general - September 24, 2024 at 04:50 PM
AI generated content and then also people turning to AI tools directly for search.
#general - April 15, 2024 at 07:35 PM
Hard to know where to draw the line
#general - April 15, 2024 at 02:19 PM
All publishers are grappling with this where they want generally higher quality content (defined as more engaging, intrinsic quality is something else) and less low effort spam or retreaded concepts.
AI-generated content has really dropped the floor on how cheap it is to produce niche blogspam, and they're saying: "Hey if you're pushing out 1000s of articles a day on a topic and we look at it and it's insane gibberish, we're just going to assume it's no good on principle and ban you."
Nobody is getting banned for the "Gray-AI" of assisted writing, where you get help with an outline or use Grammarly Pro to rewrite your sentences into coherence.

I've been trying to collect all the AI Answers shift from traditional SEO into a presentation - can I get some feedback?
#general - April 01, 2024 at 12:50 PM
@Ritoban Mukherjee (or anyone reading this) - it's not real fancy at the moment as it' "pre having a website" level, so it's really just scripts off my machine, but I can have it spit out a report if you have a site you'd like done.
#general - March 31, 2024 at 10:04 PM
I'm building a service that treats the individual AI models as sort of mini-search engines and is tracking brand mentions against high intent queries, this is part of a larger slide deck where I'm trying to put the use of that tool in context of both how the AI services operate and how they gather their knowledge.
#general - March 31, 2024 at 04:02 PM
Trying to get feedback for a presentation - does this slide make sense?
#general - February 26, 2024 at 11:35 PM
We had good luck with folks giving little tours of their home offices, most people at least had something to make it feel more personal and folks liked showing off.

"Content Fighters"
#general - March 22, 2022 at 07:42 PM
Does anybody call or brand their freelancers group something? I'm trying to write up a landing page and to formalize our recruitment, onboarding, promotion, etc.
#general - March 02, 2022 at 06:15 PM
@Samantha Anderl thank you!
#general - March 02, 2022 at 06:09 PM
Can you share some more about how you partnered with freelancers at Campaign Monitor (and are you using those same tactics at Harlow)?
#general - February 25, 2022 at 11:57 PM
I think the most important thing is for salespeople to deeply understand the pain that their prospects are dealing with (and that hopefully the SaaS solves). But if they have that sense of empathy it's just a force multiplier for all their other work. They're better at identifying what prospects would be interested, they're better at booking meetings and closing deals and just in general they represent the brand better and more genuinely.
#general - February 23, 2022 at 07:31 PM
Hey Lawrence - try these folks -
#general - February 21, 2022 at 03:23 PM
You could also try Sucuri who have a low cost platform, that would at least let you kill the obvious bots.
#general - February 21, 2022 at 03:23 PM
There are much more expensive solutions, but as a solid first step, that's hard to beat
