@Sara Gates I'm interested to hear how you got into freelance content writing. Do you enjoy that more than being "in-house"? I've been considering it but not sure freelance is the right route for me.

I'm curious to know what everyone does for a living and what your career goals are, if you don't mind sharing .

I recently made a career change into writing and have been freelance copy editing for about a year-and-a-half. Currently I am pursuing staff editorial positions at media companies.

I ended up just asking for a rate I’d like to make (based on value I provide and living expenses), which ended up being $0.17/word.

Hi all! I’m expanding into content writing and applying for a freelance role writing blog posts. They will provide brief, outline, keywords, etc. What is good per-word rate for this kind of work? What is considered fair?

I realize this is a little vague, but just looking for ballpark ideas here. Thanks!
