This is the job of a content strategist. I have been working with an agency for over a year who has me doing this for one of their clients. What I do?

Plan the topic and title

Write meta descriptions for the post

Write out the URL to use according to the title I choose

Conduct SEO and topic research

Provide Target Keywords and semantically related keywords

Draft out an outline for the post according to the research I conduct (this goes through revision for tweaks). I also include external sites for linking or ideas when writing the particular headline. For the outline, I usually include short paragraphs to explain the direction of that headline, or a quote to keep in mind or include while writing or a resource to look at.

I research the top ranking 10 - 15 posts on SERP. I review them and pick the ones I find to be really useful or something that interests me and I believe would be useful when writing

Depending on the topic, I list the FAQs

Then I provided internal links from the blog I feel could be added for “recommended reading”.

This goes through review and if there are questions or points to be added or points that doesn’t seem good, it’s sent back for editing.

I had a conversation on this topic in a Facebook group. The bottom line is that a lot of people don't really care. Most of those applicants think of what the hiring manager wants to hear and pen it down. Employers don't really care so much about their employees, their main focus is usually that work is delivered. There have been so many incidents of faithful employees in a company that genuinely care and still got laid off. At this point, job seekers are seeking jobs, they want to do their work perfectly and live a good life. That's the honest truth.
