@Koba Molenaar I don't have LinkedIn premium anymore so it's turned off by default.. If you have premium, I'm not too sure but it has to be somewhre in settings!
#freelance-gigs - January 10, 2025 at 04:16 PM
it's rife with spam. I actually had to figure out how to turn it off it was so bad
#freelance-gigs - December 20, 2024 at 05:13 PM
Hi @Erlina Vasconcellos is this still open? I've sent you a DM đ
#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - December 10, 2024 at 10:27 PM
@Eric Doty (Superpath) actually looks like they are still accepting applicants for when they open the role again next year. I had to scroll down for that info..
#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - December 10, 2024 at 10:25 PM
the Good Content role is almost a month old and closed for applicants, just FYI..
#freelance-gigs - November 25, 2024 at 05:54 PM
"bids" are when you pay to have your submission rank higher I thought?
#freelance-gigs - November 25, 2024 at 05:54 PM
@Atif Mahmood I'm not sure what you mean. I'm not suggesting use one prompt and take what ChatGPT says on the first response. You must use it to tailor and customize your cover letter to the job. I couldn't imagine how long that would take doing it without chatgpt. It summarizes my relevant experience for me in relation to what they are looking for. There's nothing wrong with that. I just landed a gig on upwork last week.
#freelance-gigs - October 31, 2024 at 06:51 PM
Don't think you need to be an expert to write one. I use chatgpt to help me structure those and tailor them to the job description.
#freelance-gigs - October 24, 2024 at 05:12 PM
I have worked extensively with payment tech this year. I applied and look forward to hearing back from you!
#general - March 05, 2024 at 03:53 PM
@Rachel Levy Sarfin yeah and I got logged out of FB and canât get back in.. I suppose we were overdue for a crash.. itâs been like 1-2 years
#freelance-gigs - February 19, 2024 at 03:14 AM
oh I thought it was 5 cents.. .50 would've made that less confusing IMO
#freelance-gigs - February 16, 2024 at 06:24 PM
SuperPath has a minimum of 10 cents per word requirement.. anything below that esp for tech audiences is way too low!
#freelance-gigs - November 22, 2023 at 03:14 AM
Build a strong brand on LinkedIn for passive inbound lead gen. Itâs good to have multiple avenues for leads. I do this and referrals which keeps me mostly busy 5 years in. Cold pitching for me has a very low ROI, but in all fairness I donât do it enough or consistently. I use
for my portfolio. A lot of people have success or like to use Notion for their portfolio.#freelance-gigs - October 17, 2023 at 06:18 PM
The funny thing is this is how we wrote cover letters back in the day for 9-5 jobs.. this is where chatgpt learned this style of writing - because it can only re-create what's already out there.
#freelance-gigs - August 10, 2023 at 06:41 PM
I use Wave. The free version meets my needs but I don't use it for contracts. I just use a template in Canva.
#freelance-gigs - August 01, 2023 at 07:24 PM
Because there is now a paid and free version.
#freelance-gigs - August 01, 2023 at 07:21 PM
Not possible⌠thatâs insane. If they want to see how you âwork across formatsâ THEY should be supplying you with their strategy and a brief, and maybe ask for you to create some micro content for email and social media as an âassessmentâ AND pay you for it.. I would not turn anything in unpaid. They will likely turn around and use it too.
#freelance-gigs - July 28, 2023 at 07:01 PM
Hello friends. This is not a freelance role. Itâs a FT role with an agency I wanted to pass along but not sure what other channel to post it in -
Linked below is a Head of Content role an agency I know is hiring for. I donât work directly for them but wanted to pass along to the community -
#freelance-gigs - July 25, 2023 at 04:45 PM
If all you do is write itâs time to diversify your skillset. There is plenty in the world of content marketing that AI canât do and even more it canât do effectively.
#freelance-gigs - July 19, 2023 at 05:26 PM
I figure out how much time I will dedicate to each client. I understand what the deliverables and deadlines are, then I break that down into weekly activities. Most of the time I can work with the client to come up with a deadline that works for both of us. Generally 5-7 business days to turn around a written piece. And I reserve weekly hours for strategy and admin/sales for my own business.

@Jimmy Daly (Superpath) I signed up and filled out the survey but haven't received any emails as of yet

Itâs only a matter of time before all companies will have some form of AI generated content so this whole âweâre going to use a detector to catch youâ thing is lunacy and wasted energy.
#freelance-gigs - June 28, 2023 at 04:12 PM
Any time dedicated to the work for the client is counted, including email/slack communications and research. This is why a retainer model makes way more sense. I donât offer my clients hourly as needed because who would have time to track hours for multiple clients. My value comes in my deliverables and results, not the hours I put in.
#freelance-gigs - June 26, 2023 at 05:18 PM
What is your background? Do you have any relevant experience?
If not Iâd suggest writing some of your own pieces for your portfolio and creating content online sharing your expertise.
Me and few others insights were featured in this recent Upwork article that might be helpful :
This one too if you have no experience:

I will share the job posting
in case anyone wants to take a gander lol.. they call it freelance in the heading, then in description say its full time contract, hybrid office requirement, they offer an hourly rate range then down at the bottom say they offer benefits/perksin addition to a "base salary" including equity in the company... yet it's a contract role that may or may not renew every month.. đ#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 07:36 PM
@Neil Mathew it's quite ridiculous how the term freelance is now put into a box by and for 'employers' to define in a way that only serves them in some cases.. if there is a job description at all, then it's considered contract if you ask me because they are dictating terms and likely providing the contract. With my freelance clients, I ask questions to determine what they need, draft a proposal based on their needs and what services I will provide + rates, payment terms, right to cure, methods of communication etc. which turns into a contract upon verbal agreement.. I'm not the only one right?
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 06:00 PM
Although that won't apply to how and when they work if they aren't a w2 employee.. that part is clearly defined from a legal standpoint
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:58 PM
More than likely @Nick Moore Also I think because this one in particular has a "contract" the individual has the choice to sign it or not.. so they basically say here is what we are offering, accept or not..
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:35 PM
I think at the very least it should be made clear the delineation between w2 employee, contractor and freelance as far as legalities go.
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:33 PM
In a way, yes, I agree with you, but more regulation may not necessarily work to our advantage
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:29 PM
@Nneka Otika And a huge advantage to the company because they don't pay your benefits, PTO, taxes.. in the US self employment tax is 13% which we bear the burden of.. So if I were in that position I'd be negotiating a MUCH higher rate, but sadly I doubt many freelancers are, especially newbies.
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:20 PM
I'm also a big proponent in selling my value, not quantifiable by hours. I don't tell my clients how much time it takes for me to do anything. I tell them they will get a content strategy at X dollar amount. I create packages that offer hybrid services for consulting and execution. That was going really well for me, until April when things took a strange turn for many of us.
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:18 PM
Interesting! Yes, to your last point, I believe they can't dictate but they can offer and you can accept, that's how they get around it! I honestly don't see a point in working for 1 client full time without employee benefits. They are capitalizing all your time, you might as well be on their payroll and get benefits... How are you gaining anything in that scenario? no freedom on hours or able to work with other clients and you have to pay your own taxes.. no thanks.
#freelance-gigs - June 23, 2023 at 05:05 PM
Does anyone else find it interesting how much the lines have blurred with what constitutes as "freelance" now? I just saw a posting for a "freelance" B2B writer and upon looking at the laundry list of details in the description they actually require a hybrid "come into the office" which means they are really only looking for local candidates. In what world does a freelancer have to report to an office? It seems to be that some companies are randomly slapping freelance onto job descriptions now. When I first started out freelancing, I would negotiate the entirety of the terms and now it seems more and more that companies are dictating everything and I'm not really on board with that personally. I went freelance five years ago to create my business on my own terms while also continuously improving my skills to offer what a w2 employee can't. I know I can just choose to ignore these things, but it's something I am noticing in the industry as a whole. I feel as freelancers it should be up to us to dictate our value/what we can offer the client above and beyond what they think they need, our time commitment, our pricing/pay etc. Basically showcasing our value and positioning ourselves as the experts. On the flipside, I know there are likely many companies who have been burned by fly by night freelancers. But I'm curious of others' thoughts.
#freelance-gigs - June 22, 2023 at 07:23 PM
I think anyone not living under a rock has used AI in their content by now đ
#freelance-gigs - June 21, 2023 at 08:22 PM
@Alessandro Cavaliere thanks for sharing, can you explain what you mean by ânetworkâ thatâs a bit vague and also what community marketing means to you
#freelance-gigs - June 21, 2023 at 08:21 PM
@Sofie Couwenbergh thanks for sharing.. I do do great work and consider myself easy to work with. Most of my clients are startups and are busy getting their own clients to refer me to others on their own, if I were to guess. Are you telling me they go out of their way to do this on their own? It also seems largely outside of your control. Iâm all about a multi-faceted approach and wouldnât rely on just referrals, personally.
#freelance-gigs - June 16, 2023 at 10:27 PM
@Shannon Clark yes, I agree! It is hard to comb through in long form content.
#freelance-gigs - June 16, 2023 at 09:42 PM
Grammarly catches all the Oxford commas I miss lol
#freelance-gigs - June 15, 2023 at 04:56 PM
@Ronnie Higgins Sounds great. I have applied and look forward to hearing back from you.
#freelance-gigs - June 14, 2023 at 09:01 PM
Yeah please don't do that.. it impacts and devalues the industry as a whole and I have a feeling this is happening on a bigger scale with so many freelancers flooding the market desperate for work. Not saying that's you, but know that it effects everyone.
#freelance-gigs - June 14, 2023 at 07:05 PM
@Dominic Kent I do all of the above.. sometimes youâve exhausted your network. Why not explore all avenues? I know ppl who are very successful at cold outreach. Itâs a good challenge and helps you refine selling yourself and getting more comfortable with it. So I personally donât agree to stop doing something because itâs not working at first.
Also we build our network by connecting with 2nd or 3rd connections and even strangers. Itâs basically moving them through your funnel until they warm up from a cold lead. So unless you mean don't pitch right away, then I can see the value in that. Build a relationship first, but I wouldn't stop connecting with people outside of your network.
#freelance-gigs - June 14, 2023 at 06:42 PM
Yeah Iâm curious why the rate wasnât posted if itâs a required field @Jimmy Daly (Superpath) looks like they werenât required to input a number, it just says per hour
#freelance-gigs - June 13, 2023 at 09:36 PM
It's always been hard, but yeah in addition to slim budgets I think the market is being flooded with freelancers. Not a reason not to keep doing it, I just think it requires more creativity. I try to connect with multiple people in a company I want to work with, and start conversations. Sometimes I'll go directly to the founder. It's hard to say what works and what doesn't for me because it's all over the map, but I do find having a persons name within the company to name drop in your pitch can help. Also, following up for a period of time is necessary.
#freelance-gigs - June 11, 2023 at 05:45 PM
Thatâs a loaded question. I second what Carolyn said, and I donât say this to discourage you but the competition is fierce these days.
#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - June 09, 2023 at 05:33 PM
And to add, I've received several leads for projects in here over the last year. The value I've received far surpasses at this point.
#CJE3XC0H3-announcements - June 09, 2023 at 05:31 PM
$10 is a small price to pay, to ensure quality and that those who run this amazing community are supported, plus I could write off a portion on my taxes anyway.
#freelance-gigs - June 05, 2023 at 06:27 PM
Hi @Leonie Waldron can I ask where you sourced your recent clients?
