Yeah, me too! I've worked with clients that have had strategists and used that experience to strategize for startups I've later worked with. Learning from other experts in the industry has been super useful :)

Hi, you have way more experience than I do but I can relate to most of the things you've said. I do both writing and strategy but I do enjoy writing a lot! I always make it a point to offer strategy as well but it depends on the client. Some clients already have marketing folks/ strategists to do that and I'm usually in touch with them. But if not, I suggest strategizing and moving in that manner. I do have a focused niche but I struggle with setting KPIs and tracking them as well. I'm trying to build systems around how I can do that better. In my experience, working with strategists has helped me understand how to set KPIs better and what matters to the client. Plus it varies from client to client.

The market I'm in again cannot be outsourced easily and that's something I've struggled with too. What I've done is shifted to working on long form content and writing as much as possible while at the same time doing longer projects.

I also pick projects that require a mix of writing and strategy. That helps me be the creative person I want to be while at the same time growing my business. I've started to outsource short form writing specifically and do more long form, time taking pieces that need both writing and strategy. I started doing this very recently so I wouldn't have results to show but I'm enjoying doing what I like + growing at the same time.

I'm doing this right now. There aren't many writers in my niche. I just edited an article one of them had written and honestly, I could've written this instead of sub-contracting. (Faster & better)

Hi folks! I've been writing for legal professionals for quite some time now. I've recently started writing for legal SaaS companies. But I'm looking to write for the SaaS space in different niches like productivity, and marketing. I've written scripts for a personal growth podcast previously but I don't have samples in SaaS and can't find folks who accept newbies. I'm also looking to get into sales and web copy and I do have experience writing law firm web copy but again, I want to get into other niches to write copy. What do you think is the best approach to do this? Are there any resources I can use?
