What techniques do you use to generate ideas?

This is a super broad question, but this 4A framework has been helpful to me in the past! https://www.ship30for30.com/post/how-to-generate-112-new-content-ideas-in-30-minutes

Freewriting. Sit down with a notebook (or an Obsidian note) and start riffing on a thought or potential article topic that's been in my head.

I tend to write my notes in bullet point outlines.

Pretty much. Like, I know I want to write some sustainability content, but I can't think of any specific topics

What @Mark Burdon shared! To that, I'd add: read. Lots. Look up sustainability trends, subscribe to sustainability newsletters, follow people who talk about sustainability. Read sustainability news and other people who are writing about sustainability. Save articles that stand out to you.

Take notes on the things you find most interesting--and on what people aren't talking about that you think should be said. Write out what interests you most about sustainability, what troubles you about the current state of the journey toward it, etc. You'll have lots of topics in no time.
