Hi everyone. I need your opinion, please.

A CEO I interviewed with referred me to his brother, head of content at another company. Do I need to, sort of, thank him for the referral?

Some context:
A CEO interviewed me for a B2B SaaS writing role (freelance) two weeks ago. He loves my profile and I'm writing a paid trial article for them this week.

Just last week, a head of content reached out on LinkedIn and I ended the call with him 5 minutes ago. I'll work with him on a project he's looking to start in September/October.

The twist is that he didn't discover me organically. His brother, the CEO I spoke to earlier, mentioned me to him and he reached out.

My Q is, do I need to send a LinkedIn text to the CEO thanking him for the referral? How will this kinda conversation go?

Yes! Send a message to them. Tell them 'Hey! Just got off a call with your brother. Thank you for referring me to him. We'll be starting work sometime in September/October. Thank you for the trust in me even before we start. I'm already excited to get started with our collaboration! Yay!' Something along these lines should work.
