Has anyone had any previous experience with realestate Social Media marketing and SEO. I have a friend in Miami that is about to run some SMM campaigns and she is not sure how big ROI she can provide within 3 months. I think SEO content is key here but I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Edit: Is SMM curcial at all for driving sales or should she switch on SEO entirely? Feel like SMM could just be for online presence and building trust.

Real estate is super competitive

Social media is often used for driving sales too, most real estate agents and brokers share their listings on Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram. YouTube is another channel for property tours. It's really competitive as Eric said so hard to estimate ROI but lots of listing sites like Trulia and Zillow make it easy to share listings

For SMM I usually see a strong copy that drives attention and then further directs the lead towards a free home buying educational guide. Basically educating them on the local market and things they’d wanna know when purchasing a home.

Basically lead them through an AD copy and once they’re in the backend and became a lead notify an agent to follow up, but don’t know if SEO is more effective than SMMA.

Hi @Ilija Jakovljevic
Not sure if this thread is still active, but here is what we have learnt in my decade long experience running SMM and SEO campaigns (Organic & Inorganic):

As truly said by @Mark Burdon YouTube Videos with a walkthrough of the property, Instagram shorts work well for real-estate marketing.

When it comes to SEO, i would rather suggest to go with LSO (Listing Search Optimization) on property listing websites like Trulia, Zillow, Houzeo etc., This will give quicker results than Google/Bing SEO. And LSO is organic. Running Ad campaigns on Trulia, Zillow and Houzeo would also help largely in driving traffic and enquiries.

For real-estate businesses SMM only helps in brand building and social proofing. However, ad campaigns may yield results in 3-6 months.

Hope this help!

@Prashanthi Kolluru - As a content marketer with SEO experience who is interested in real estate (but admittedly don't know much about how it works), question for you: I imagine, even with LSO, this industry is really competitive. In your experience, how can smaller companies set themselves apart / compete with sites like Zillow that (I assume) dominate search results?

Ilija Jakovljevic May 07, 2024 at 05:44 PM

The correct answer is: You don’t but there is a great secret route to bypass it. I found a great yt video that explains it. If you have time check the first 15 to 20 mins of the vid you’ll find an answer. More effective than me explaining here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZfAAdaVp-w&t=1565s&ab_channel=RyanStewart
