Random best practice question: When you get a brief in a Google doc, do you write your draft within that doc? Or do you create a separate doc for drafting?

I've always done a separate doc because the process can get messy πŸ™‚ but I don't actually know what standard practice is.

I always create a separate doc for drafts and then paste my final work on the brief doc.

Always separate. I don't like to be watched while working. And the chasm between first and final draft is embarrassingly large for me

Separate is my preference as a hiring manager and that's what I do whenever I freelance also.

I always create a separate doc and submit the separate doc only. Never been a problem for me. If the client wants it in the same doc they usually ask me to do the same.

Depends on what the client asks for, but I ALWAYS write my draft in a separate doc then copy/paste it into the one I submit to the client. They don’t need to see how the sausage is made (or how long it takes me πŸ˜‰ ).
