Hey folks, I wrote an article for a client in the past, but later got fired because he didn't want to sign the contract. I wanted to know, how do I know if my content has been used by them or not?

Run it through a plagiarism checker.

Prachi Jha May 09, 2023 at 09:06 AM

I already did that @Ezekiel and it says it's highly plagiarized. What should I do then?

Ezekiel May 09, 2023 at 09:07 AM

Did they pay you for the article?

Prachi Jha May 09, 2023 at 09:08 AM

Nope

Ezekiel May 09, 2023 at 09:09 AM

Then it's time to confront them. Make sure to include the link to the published article.

Prachi Jha May 09, 2023 at 09:14 AM

But how do I find the link to the published article? I already searched for it on Google

Ezekiel May 09, 2023 at 09:27 AM

That's easy. Check for plagiarism using this tool: https://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/. Scroll down a bit and you'll find a link directing you to the page on which your article has been published. Attached is an example.

I'd recommend to let this go. Instead use the article as a sample in your portfolio if you're building one atm.
