Marketers who focus on customer testimonials and stories: Any tips on how to avoid the red tape/layers of “approvals” from customers when trying to publish a customer story? We often get stuck by people needing to get cleared to either chat with us and/or have something reviewed before it is published. Trying to minimize this as much as possible, interested in hearing any strategies. (From my own experience going to marketers usually helps avoid this, but they are not my audience and rarely who would make sense to chat with/highlight.)

Honestly it's pretty challenging. In my old day job I handled content for an onboarding company and tons of our case studies got held up in the process. I basically default to keeping the customer happy even if that meant I wasn't able to keep up production as much as I would like. I find that the clearer you are up front about everything the better. I also find it's important to have a couple of backup plans if you are in charge of a certain amount. If all else fails, you can also create some anonymous ones and get a few images that make sense off a stock website to make it nicer.
