I've seen all the blog posts and arguments, but I still don't have a personal conviction....

Is it:

• ecommerce?
• eCommerce?
• e-commerce?
• Something else?
I think I lean towards ecommerce, but I'm open to being proven wrong.

i prefer ecommerce because im too lazy to hyphenate or capitalize one letter, but everyone has their own personal preference. for our clients, we just go with whatever their style guide says to do

same with D2C or DTC

I go with ecommerce. I view it like email. People used to write e-mail, but as it became more ubiquitous, the hyphen was removed. Following the same trend with ecom.

Ecommerce is searched more than the hyphenated version https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&geo=US&q=Ecommerce,E-commerce

The hyphenated one is too "standout-ish" so we avoid it. But go with whichever one suits, no one's going to point it out. I'd say it only makes sense to keep it consistent across.

I've been using eCommerce because all my programs insist that's the right way.
