Hi, content marketing friends! I'm working on an article about how Figma can improve the workflow between writers and designers. Do you have any tips? 😊 TIA

ooh this is extremely relevant to my interests. I desperately want some sort of import/export/auto update so I can have figma pull in words. Not sure if this exists as a plug in, but I woudl love native capabilities for Figma to pull text for text frames from other sources.

Yes! I worked as the Writing Lead at a digital wellness startup and would frequently pitch in for UX meetings - we eventually started writing the articles for the app on Figma itself and the designers/engineers would come in, lift the pieces from duplicate files, make the tweaks and deliver them to the app.

Happy to chat more if you're looking for specific answers! @Jen Phillips April

@Kate Kight, That's a great question, thanks for asking. I'll see what I can find out!
Thanks, @Brinda Gulati, so you wrote the articles within Figma? That's an interesting use case. Did you highlight any of the text? H1, H2, etc. or use call out boxes or was it more of a way to deliver the content the design/engineer team in their preferred tool - like a writer might use Google doc vs. Word?

Thanks!

@Jen Phillips April We were writing for in-app articles and since the subject matter (psychology) was dense, we would frequently run over the word count. So we made mockups of the app's screens complete with visuals and starting writing directly in them to see how the lesson would look on the app and to know if we were over-shooting the word limit.

At first, it's a pain because edits aren't easy, so we kept making duplicate files and leaving tens of comments -- reviewing is an absolute nightmare. But since I was also helping out the UX and operations team, I was better able to explain what the final article should look like when the articles were ready for publishing.

Plus, spatial design was vastly easier by writing directly within these "app screens" complete with button text and illustrations.
