We launched the brand through crowdfunding right before the pandemic in 2019. Now we’re back on the platform for our new Waterproof Tote Bag line. We deemed it a good way to greatly accelerate go-to-market for these bags, expand the product line, and help with funding all in one go! Major rally to make it happen in a handful of weeks. Shopify discount question - how do you all configure your sitewide discounts, say for BFCM for example. currently we use an ‘order discount’ automatic discount in shopify. limitation being it only shows the discount at checkout (not on PDP or collections pages). we’ve made a workaround for our current theme, but don’t yet for the new theme we’re hoping to put live. and it has me questioning if we’re even doing this properly, because I’m suprised Shopify doesn’t natively display discounted pricing and strikeout pricing on pdps and collections.

I’ve been reminded a few times lately that Nov/Dec is expensive for paid meta/google. what are other brands doing in preparation for that in Oct? Specific lead gen efforts or other ways of really bulking up your retargeting pool that we can still double down on in Oct before busy season kicks in?

how’s everyone’s Sept revenue looking? specifically, did you run a labor day sale? experiencing notable drop off since then?
it was our first labor day sale, performance was excellent. but the drop-off afterwards is substantial. might still net same revenue as previous Sept, but that was achieved without a promo.

Hi Mike. I didn’t even realize Shopify Tax was activated for us, I guess automatically. I’m still paying for taxjar too, but can’t take advantage of their auto filing services because we’re Canadian. So do I even need that service or does Shopify Tax provide the same info? albeit at a higher cost by the looks of it.

@Wouter Akika do you use Revolut for Paypal transfers as well? googling suggests that part might be a bit easier with Wise. I ask because paypal withdrawals is another fx loss that i could solve with a better setup. currently I have to convert all our USD from paypal into CAD, because Paypal isn’t compatible with USD accounts physically in Canada. If Wise or Revolut lets me circumvent that step I’ll save a lot in unnecessary USD to CAD transfers
