Nik, where are you finding the best Marketing talent these days?

LinkedIn feels overwhelming with low-quality applicants, and Upwork has turned into a mess.

Are there specific platforms, communities, or strategies you’ve found most effective for hiring great people?

#cx-retention - March 08, 2025 at 08:15 PM

<@U08D32FD057> – solid question…

Retention strategies aren’t one-size-fits-all.

I’d love to know more about your specific business model and customer journey.

What’s holding you back?

• Low repeat purchase rates?
• Weak engagement?
• Churn at a specific stage?
That said, here’s what can move the needle for repeat customers (and why):

Buying Habit Formation – Do customers have a reason to come back?

• If your product has a natural replenishment cycle (skincare, supplements), great.
• If not, you need a strong habit loop (loyalty perks, exclusive content, ongoing use cases).
Post-Purchase Experience – The best brands don’t just sell—they onboard.

• Automated post-purchase flows (email/SMS).
• Community engagement & education.
• Proactive support that keeps customers coming back.
Retention-Focused Offers – Subscriptions, bundles, VIP programs.

• These turn one-time buyers into repeat loyalists.
• If you’re relying on Meta Ads alone, you’re leaving money on the table.
Channel Overlap & Timing – Email/SMS & Meta Ads can drive retention… but only if they hit right.

• Are your emails personalized?
• Is Meta retargeting happening at the right moment (30-60 days post-purchase)?
This is just the start, and I’d LOVE to take a deeper look. 😃

👉 Drop some details in the thread or DM me, and I’ll give more targeted advice..

If you want the basic strategy & system of acquiring clients via ads you could check out $100 Million Leads by Alex Hormozi (it’s free as an audiobook on his podcast).

Or are you literally talking about how to get set up with like pixels and stuff?

#general-chat - January 16, 2025 at 12:45 AM

Hey Gary, if you wanna dm over your site I’d be happy to just chat about it. Not looking for a job, just being helpful and making friends after my work day :)

#general-chat - January 16, 2025 at 12:39 AM

Hey @Rose Fierman my fav is getting gtm set up with things like quantcast so you better learn your audience. You can then use those interest for targeting as well!

As for c/r fluctuations- it can be pretty normal. How big are you talking and how much traffic? Feel free to dm me if you want.

That said cr changes by the day. Best to look week over week to get a real sense of your cr. That said if you’re going from 2% to .6 in a day you’re tech maybe at fault. As a marketer I always I like to start there.

There’s tons of reasons so if you wanna give more background to your situation I’ll provide you more insight!

Hey - does anyone have a recommendation for a figma designer who wants full or part time work & can do daily tasks like updating storefront, funnels, emails and etc.

Thanks!

#everything-marketing - April 16, 2024 at 12:43 PM

@Abdel Ibrahim also test one which is like the gif you have in the preview of the link. Where you can see the colors changing. Might be a great scroll stopper to see the colors flashing by. And also intro people to the possible color choices.

#paid-media - April 14, 2024 at 05:12 PM

@Sean Cowie the us vs them angle is strong but the design is overshadowing the copy. Common issue with design in my experience.

I’ve posted some examples that use best practice. Notice at how clean and easy to read these are

  1. Clearly split down middle.
  2. Two colors - your product = positive attractive color.
  3. Copy has two parts that are very clearly written - one for your brand - one for everyone else.
  4. Copy is left aligned (not centered like poem)

** this is “best practice” but let fb and customers decide ;)

Dm if you wanna chat more about these creative! Happy to help

#general-chat - April 14, 2024 at 04:53 PM

@Robert Leonard In addition to going cheap also make sure that whatever package you sent doesn’t cause the product arrived broken broken. For example, in my experience, using usps for shipping, we had skin care in glass bottles and plastic jars, and product boxes which arrived broken because they were sent in a slim parcel. It didn’t seem like a big deal at first but, once we ran the numbers it turned out that being cheap with packaging not only hurt the product, arriving broken causing multiple recent per week inflating the cost per customer. Worst of all it hurt the customers feelings which in turn hurt brand reputation. LTV and repurchasing, therefore was also hurt. Thus, it ended up being better for us to use generic boxes just like Amazon to protect packages. even though it’s more expensive on the front and ended up being more profitable and better for the brand on the back end.

#amazon - April 09, 2024 at 02:26 PM

@Doğu - Amazon Ads Verified Partner @David Williams

Just wanna say you guys rock! If there’s anything I can do to return the favor please lmk.

For context - Copy, CRO & Marketing Strategy are my speciality and my work has directly helped generate over $30mil in sales

…But, your guys support will likely generate even more $$$!

So I’d be happy to connect in and help in any way that I can - just say the word fam! 😄

#announcements - April 06, 2024 at 12:41 PM

@Shin Takeda @Humza Islam where will you guys be diving in? What are your goals for this quarter?

I’ll be taking a look at cx-retention to learn more & reduce subscriptions churn

#amazon - April 03, 2024 at 11:44 AM

Oh damn @Doğu - Amazon Ads Verified Partner I see it now! thanks for the full explainer!!

#cx-retention - April 03, 2024 at 11:44 AM

@Marcin Mleczko you’re the best!

Anything I could maybe help you with?

#amazon - April 02, 2024 at 09:47 PM

Thanks @Doğu - Amazon Ads Verified Partner - maybe I miss-understand or miss-explained but if we do type form that would be counted as contacting us off Amazon; right?

To be clear, the goal is to get issues resolved before they become a negative review. And ideally make it a positive experience/ review 😄 .

How does Typeform play into this?

#cx-retention - April 02, 2024 at 09:43 PM

The team and I just finished reading Membership Economy. Very much an intro to subscriptions & creating a community. And while it got us on the same page. I’m looking for deeper knowledge now; for example:
• Member Day 1 Engagement
• Long term engagement
• Reducing Churn
• How to incentivize surveys/get people to fill surveys out\

Any good book recommendations on c/x retention?

#amazon - April 02, 2024 at 09:38 PM

Anyone have advice on how to get customers to contact you through the amazon portal before complaining on reviews?

We get people contacting us directly which is great. But even as an amazon customer - IDC how to contact sellers. Even the other day I was trying to do it for a purchase and I go to frustrated and gave up haha. ironic that they are so serious about ONLY contacting on amazon when they make it so difficult

#paid-media - March 18, 2024 at 08:41 PM

Congrats @Max MG

Heads up - first time I loaded this didn’t work for me. Tried clicking nothing happened

Second time I now see it’s a gif. It’s a bit too small on desktop & mobile to read/understand what’s gong on.

There’s a lot of things I’m noticing that are not built “mobile first” or even desktop friendly. such as Money Back Guarantee.

#paid-media - November 09, 2023 at 04:34 PM

oh dope! I love the Always Pan. My grandmother in law gave it to us for our wedding last year haha. sending you a dm @Bernadette Judd

#tech-talk - November 09, 2023 at 04:31 PM

@Danny C how come you’re looking to do a.i.?

Usually, I hear for c/x it’s detrimental as it makes c/x teams lazy/ sets your customers up for robotic non-aligned emails. For example a.i. won’t know the intricacies of every unique product so it usually wont know how to answer properly.

Do you have a cool idea on how to make this work well for your team?

BTW currently rich pannel has an a.i. installed.

#paid-media - November 06, 2023 at 02:49 PM

=====

What’s the best place to find Figma Designers who truly know direct response & CRO?

I go through behance but it’s hard to tell what their experience is; thus it’s a lot of manual work. Upwork is a 💩 show (but I love it none-the-less)

#paid-media - November 04, 2023 at 03:33 PM

Thank you all so much for the suppot!

#general-chat - September 30, 2023 at 06:59 PM

What, in your option, is the best strategy for collecting reviews?

> e.x.
> • Email campaign
> • SMS campaign
> • Call customers and ask
> • Referral program
> • Contests
> • Incentivized with 100% money back or in gift card (bonus points if you can share how to legally incentivize people 😉 )

#paid-media - May 19, 2023 at 10:09 PM

@Micheal O'Neill if you wanna try and do some work together - our team is looking for some people to do page building. We’re testing two agencies now and would be happy to test you folks for an advertorial build. hmu if interested ☎️ https://calendly.com/paul_at_akika/30min

Otherwise! CHEERS! Welcome to the club 🙂

#cx-retention - May 19, 2023 at 10:08 PM

general education on how to use it. A lot of the team just seems slow to test. Maybe that’s my bias. But if we have 50 people using it only 5 are power users. bet half havenet event tried chatgpt more than a few minutes

#cx-retention - May 19, 2023 at 10:07 PM

so far no one has raised a concern about sensitive info. If we were cocacola or something I bet people would be. But I bet cares about our company enough to spy atm.

#random - May 19, 2023 at 10:05 PM

agreed! 80% of results are headline and lead.

Interestingly, we tested one based on this for facebook - a LOT of people make it through the page. We even did a split test where every paragraph had a link. And NOTHING changed. Legit same results. So seems in our case it was a little bit less of a concern.

#random - May 18, 2023 at 09:12 PM

Have you heard of trysnow’s advertorial - the 7 reasons why --> https://teethwhiteninglightkit.com/

> Apparently this boosted their roas by up to 25%
> https://splitbase.com/case-studies/snow
On the surface you could say… yeah all of these make sense, it’s general marketing.

But, they went a step further, and surveyed their c/x department… found out the most asked questions… and then used those to create the reasons why.

As Jeff Bezos says - be “customer obsessed” right?!

-cheers!

#paid-media - May 16, 2023 at 03:49 PM

@Micheal O'Neill does your team work with clickfunnels, shopify or check out champ… or all of the above?

#paid-media - May 16, 2023 at 03:47 PM

I’d recommend @Chase Dimond as well - his team is full of top talent. wicked smart.

#cx-retention - May 16, 2023 at 03:46 PM

Our team is mainly adopting it in the marketing department. We’re continually testing it to find ad copy. I’m personally working through our legal copy questions with Ai.

We’d like to crack the code on using it for c.x. more but it’s not easy to intergrate with the services we already use. Will be doing more research on it.

These days, it also feels a lot like the dot com boom of the 90s-2000s… everything says it has ai even if it doesn’t… and those that do aren’t always the easiest to use or best ai.

IMO the best are the ones that give you the source of info… chatgpt is ok… but you.com is free and uses chat gpt… it gives you the source of every claim. As well, brave search does the same now.

The other issue is the limit on characters… we have a LOT of data but having to break apart data to feed it to ai is a nightmare. Often times the ai forgets the info you already told it.

hope this helps!
