1.What's your starting point when launching a gifting marketing campaign (e.g. Black Friday, Mother's Day, Xmas etc?). Do you target a specific demographic or is it quite varied?

2.How important is personalisation when creating gifting marketing campaigns? How do you make each shopper feel individual? What forms of personalisation are most effective?

I’m reading Shopify’s upgrade guide and losing the will to live. Anyone else taken the time to really review things? I’m trying to figure out if it’s such a big priority for non Shopify Plus customers

Hi all, keen to hear if anyone has implemented a quiz, like Octane AI or similar?

I heard from 3 brands last week who raved about it, but their products are quite nuanced and a quiz could actually be helpful to customers.

If anyone is using a quiz:
1. How challenging is it to get customers/ prospective customers to fill this out?
2. Has it enabled you to segment better and improve the performance of your email marketing?

Hey @Andrew Dowley it was a worthwhile evening.

As you’d expect, a load of tech partners and agencies attended. Nevertheless met some good people and there were solid takeaways from it.

The Q&A with the three brands were all in the skincare/ beauty category but it did get me thinking about the value of using a quiz to obtain better data on our customers

At something the size of Expo West, I did meet some founders who weren’t exhibiting but still took the opportunity to still try and find buyers at the free events happening, outside the expo halls.

I thought this was pretty cool and scrappy.

I wouldn’t just turn up at these huge events, unless I had a very clear plan of attack…otherwise it’s a trip to collect free samples from exhibitors

Obvious consideration would be Attentive and then I’ve seen they Bird (Amsterdam based) have recently shifted their business to be SMS focused too

It would be good to hear which SMS platforms 📲 others are using?

Klaviyo SMS for non US brands is outrageously priced, and I need to find a more cost effective solution.

Ideal scenario would be:

  1. An SMS platform that is European first/ doesn’t charge European customers more than US customers.
  2. Integrates or can pull SMS subscribers from Klaviyo. Would be great to hear any ideas or thoughts on this - cheers.
