Do you need to syndicate to any other retailers besides target?

#tech-talk - April 11, 2025 at 09:06 PM

what do you mean? it's all under the same parent company - but they work with different retailers in some cases, and it's different product

#tech-talk - April 11, 2025 at 08:25 PM

$6K for one partner/one brand is already likely more than Okendo or your reviews partner depending on the size of your plan - but yes it's min $10K per brand (we have 3) even if it's only for a couple of retail partners. Exorbitant fees - they have a monopoly with many of the retail partners and use that to charge these insane markups on very basic tech

#tech-talk - April 11, 2025 at 08:17 PM

<@U08GMTJRYJD> can you elaborate on what you mean by "fairly manageable fee"? Curious what you've been quoted - we pay 2X for BV than we do for Okendo annually as of right now and all they do is syndicate the reviews we're already collecting.

#tech-talk - April 11, 2025 at 02:53 PM

Anyone have recommendations or ways to get around working with a partner like Bazaarvoice for review syndication (our reviews platform is Okendo) - they charge a FORTUNE and are always unwilling to negotiate, as far as I know they have a monopoly on many retailers so if you retail with a certain partner you may be required to work with BV - but wondering if people have found ways around this

#tech-talk - April 09, 2025 at 08:38 PM

Would love to hear what you find out here @David Baker some of these are top of mind me for as well

#tech-talk - April 09, 2025 at 08:36 PM

Used them in the past, found they quoted strong results but we didn't really see that impact in our overall numbers - this was about 3 years ago though

#tech-talk - April 09, 2025 at 08:35 PM

Anyone know what Motion is quoting as current pricing?

#general-chat - April 09, 2025 at 02:02 PM

What brand(s) are doing tariff surcharges already - either anyone here, or any sites you've been on so far?

#general-chat - April 07, 2025 at 02:50 PM

Good quick survey from the DTC Newsletter re: Tariffs and how brands are being impacted or reacting:

hey <@U080L40R7DH> if you're still looking for someone let me know!

#tech-talk - March 11, 2025 at 08:09 PM

shipping insurance moved into the shipping section instead of a line item in the cart - seeing a sharp spike in abandoned carts since that change, and it's messing up google merchant center etc as well because even if we offer free shipping, the shipping insurance makes it look like you're being charged regardless unless you opt out. i don't think consumer is understanding that it is separate from standard shipping charges

#tech-talk - March 11, 2025 at 07:39 PM

Anyone else here using Corso for shipping insurance? Wondering if you've had challenges with the recent update they made as well

#meetups-events - February 19, 2025 at 09:12 PM

same @Jessica Manchester!

#everything-marketing - February 19, 2025 at 09:04 PM

Archive is a good tool for cataloguing existing UGC and potentially sourcing influencers from already brand familiar users

#everything-marketing - January 08, 2025 at 06:35 PM

What 2024 recaps/reports from vendors etc are you finding helpful (e.g. Northbeam's recaps of their 2024 BFCM predictions, Triplewhale's BFCM retrospective report)?

#everything-marketing - December 04, 2024 at 04:01 PM

gets a lot less competitive as bigger places end sale

#everything-marketing - December 04, 2024 at 04:01 PM

we flipped off from CM yesterday morning and are on a lower tier of sitewide sale til shipping cutoff - we've used a similar strategy for a few years now

#general-chat - December 03, 2024 at 12:21 AM

was yesterday abnormally large for you? i find CM usually comps BF give or take for most brands - sat/sun will be about 65-85% of Fri depending on the brand

#general-chat - December 02, 2024 at 11:08 PM

but still not where it should be!

#general-chat - December 02, 2024 at 11:08 PM

it's gotten a little better from this morning (down about 30% to expectations); now tracking down about 15%

#general-chat - December 02, 2024 at 06:52 PM

Cyber Monday feeling slow so far to anyone else? I know everyone's all "it doesn't pick up til the later afternoon" but even compared to last year's Cyber Monday...doesn't feel like the demand is there

#paid-media - November 25, 2024 at 12:30 AM

@Jackie Zischang curious what industry you’re in and how long you’ve been running this ad account; I’ve heard direct reports from a few other people of similar issues during this time, but no real acknowledgment from Meta to date

#paid-media - November 25, 2024 at 12:30 AM

Ours have never really improved; it’s caused a measurably large amount of revenue loss and acquisition for the business since Meta had previously been working quite well.

That said, we have managed to offset it and find some ways to get things sort of working again through different campaign types and tests. Currently, we’re running a bid cap test with a significantly inflated budget but tight restrictions; it was the recommendation of our Meta rep. It does seem to be working better for CPM‘s and net new reach, but scale has been pretty limited so far.

#general-chat - November 14, 2024 at 11:12 PM

Curious to take a general pulse check; if you've started any type of BFCM sale, early access, or pre-sale, how is performance going so far against your expectations? Thumbs up for meeting or exceeding, thumbs down if slower than expected

#everything-marketing - November 07, 2024 at 09:26 PM

99% sure you can adjust this in Okendo - we use them and ours are grouped

#everything-marketing - November 07, 2024 at 09:25 PM

@Michaella Kurdziel have worked with pebblepost in the past and have to say that print quality is MUCH better with postpilot in my experience

#everything-marketing - November 07, 2024 at 09:24 PM

Curious to hear how your tests went

#jobs-and-talent - July 24, 2024 at 06:42 PM

if anyone is looking for a great director of brand/marketing in the CPG/food space, I have a friend who is looking to leave a current role that I highly recommend & am happy to connect with anyone who may be looking for someone in that role

#cx-retention - June 26, 2024 at 09:31 PM

We're seeing a huge influx of bot traffic sign-ups using our klaviyo forms; not quite the same thing but i wonder if it's somehow related to influxes of bot clicks

#cx-retention - May 10, 2024 at 01:14 PM

Would recommend social snowball - can set up both customer and ambassador referrals

#everything-marketing - May 06, 2024 at 02:31 PM

Ahh ok sorry only going it through Klaviyo, not sure about direct via Okendo

#everything-marketing - May 02, 2024 at 02:35 PM

How are you sending the emails - directly via okendo or via something like klaviyo?

#everything-marketing - April 30, 2024 at 11:44 PM

What's been the best/most effective way for people here to source & scale UGC creators for paid ads? Is it existing influencer relationships, finding content creators specifically, tapping into top customers, fiverr/upwork, billo, or something else?

(When I saw "best/most effective" I mean getting the creative you want back that you feel drives results/scale for your business, however you're measuring that!)

#tech-talk - April 23, 2024 at 05:24 PM

What's the thoughts/vibes with Black Crow these days?

#tech-talk - April 18, 2024 at 11:55 PM

Already in touch with multiple people at Klaviyo & have dedicated CSM support, moreso trying to understand if Klaviyo has done this to others & how they have managed it/whether they were successful getting refunds back on wasted fees

#tech-talk - April 18, 2024 at 11:51 PM

Anyone have experience with annual contracts with Klaviyo?

Tl;DR - we consolidated our three brands' email & SMS to Klaviyo which was supposed to save us tens of thousands over the course of a year, but they actually significantly over-estimated our SMS credit needs and as we come up on the end of the year we're going to have over-paid by mid to high 5 figures. We flagged this to their team after about 7 months but they have yet to provide a resolution.

#tech-talk - April 16, 2024 at 05:49 PM

And product experience has been very "eh" - they've made it clear in roadmap they're prioritizing email and CDP/data, not SMS specifically; team support is also inconsistent

#tech-talk - April 16, 2024 at 05:48 PM

Not comparing platform attribution here - GA4 attribution, clear and sharp drop off as soon as we switched that never recovered

#tech-talk - April 16, 2024 at 05:46 PM

Having everything in one place hasn't really seemed to help us much either

#tech-talk - April 16, 2024 at 05:46 PM

Klaviyo pushed us onto an annual contract in order for us to see savings (we switched SMS from attentive, were already using klaviyo for email) and we get charged a flat monthly fee, only we found out about halfway into it that they WAY over-quoted the amount of SMS credits we'd need with klaviyo (by about 40% or so) and under-estimated email, and are telling us they can't convert SMS credits to email and we'll be charged overage fees at the end of the contract...in short, a huge billing mess and nightmare and ballooning my P&L for this. Also saw conversion rates fall off a cliff by more than 50% when we switched SMS to klaviyo and they've never recovered - their product is NOT the same as attentive either, which offers concierge/AI driven engagement and you really can't do a lot of that with klaviyo. opt-in is also clunky compared to other tech out there

#tech-talk - April 16, 2024 at 05:01 PM

@George Kapernaros how are you defining it as "great"?

Would define success as high engagement/conversion rates, ability to minimize wasted cost/excess spend in SMS while maximizing impact. Not things I'm seeing with Klaviyo vs. others on the market; they're also clearly focusing on data & email and their SMS product is lagging vs competitors

#tech-talk - April 16, 2024 at 04:52 PM

Anyone using Klaviyo for SMS and finding success, or have made the transition from Klaviyo to another service like postscript?

#amazon - April 05, 2024 at 02:56 PM

@Andrea of the contractor?

#jobs-and-talent - April 03, 2024 at 02:42 PM

Anyone have a great freelance copywriter they work with or can recommend who is really good a performance-driven copywriter (e.g. ads, website/landing pages, etc)?

#tiktok - March 29, 2024 at 04:23 PM

TT shipping will not auto sync with your 3PL you will have to manually send everything over, TT shipping all lives within the TT platform - would not recommend if you are trying to any level of scale.

Per a convo I had with TT previously the free ship incentive was not specific to either type of shipping, but maybe different now

#everything-marketing - March 27, 2024 at 05:34 PM

Social Snowball for ambassador (esp if you want to tap into content creators/monetized scale!) cc @Zohaib Rattu who's on here from their team 🙂

#everything-marketing - March 27, 2024 at 05:33 PM

Just curious how much everyone's CPMs on Facebook are up YoY right now

I'll start - we're seeing increases of 30-50% YoY for our brands

#everything-marketing - March 25, 2024 at 10:03 PM

Nope not looking for an analytics tool (we already work with Daasity and Looker for analytics)- specifically looking for a company that buys/has customer purchase data and can map that back to our actual customer base to give us a better understanding of our customer demographics and psychographics. Needs to be 1st party data from an outside database that can be overlayed with our 1st party data to give us that understanding

#everything-marketing - March 25, 2024 at 08:29 PM

i specifically want to find a tool that will do analysis on our customer base
