We work with an Amazon agency in Poland - here’s a quick summary for comparison:

Scope:
They manage 7 products (9 incl. variations) and handle all listing services - KW optimisation, A+ content, etc. The account and listings were set up in-house, so not starting from scratch.

Our contract:
12 month contract + 3-month review w break clause.
£700 fixed monthly fee (exc VAT)
4% monthly fee on sales revenue (exc VAT)

In my experience:
Variable fee - looks a little high, worth negotiating.
Break clause - essential! we relied on ours due to poor performance. Have extended 3 months, post review.
A+ Premium Content - ask for examples to assess their design quality, if they're managing this for you. It's so important for performance.

Hey all, looking for advice from fellow product founders on sending commercial samples abroad.

We’re a UK-based business shipping samples to the EU and beyond for wholesale/retail distribution. We currently send a Proforma Invoice with the true replacement value (up to £55) on highest value item), but some shipments have been held up at customs.
Do you declare the replacement value or a nominal value? Also, do you mark or modify the product to clarify it's a sample

Hey all,

I'm looking for some advice on securing retail listings. We’re mostly DTC but branching into retail this year. Initial targets are indie stores like GoodHood, End., then more mainstream retailers like Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Urban Outfitters etc. Any advice on how to approach or recommendations for distribution partners in this space would be greatly appreciated.

We launched a new product around the same price point (£200) with pre-orders in Oct. We offered a 20% discount + gift with purchase (accessory). Over communicating was key + always build in a buffer for delivery. We ended up delivering early, which was seen by customers a win!

In hindsight, I wish we'd communicated more prior to opening up the pre-orders. We'd built up a waitlist and could have done more to nurture them with updates to help build hype for the release itself.

Wondered if there are any opinions on relative differences and benefits between skimlinks, AWIN and Rakuten? For the main purpose of increasing likelihood of being included in editorial product round ups, gift guides etc.

PS I've recently joined Qwoted too and finding that great, but want to have an ongoing affiliate partner too. We're mostly UK focused right now.

We've just been through this with META, after weeks of chasing and trying to resolve, we created a new ads account. We were disabled for changing the business card linked to our account while abroad! The ticket system is so painful. Hope you have better luck George!

1 issue here is getting our content and marketing machine firing again after a black period. We're transitioning from MVP to full product launch and invested most ££ back into stock, leaving little for paid media. Focusing on our own DIY creative + the PR, influencer, gifting, partnerships route in the short term to get channels pumping again.

@Kasper - LABFRESH Super interesting on the print approach! Do you design and produce the content yourselves, or do you collaborate with an external team? Also, I guess you have a way of tracking and attributing the print sales? I love that approach. We are always looking for ways to enhance the barbershop experience and add value to our barber network.

So interesting to see the under the hood! Tough keeping the product flowing with high pre-payments, we're in the same boat. We've just managed to agree longer payment terms with our factory for our next order which will make a massive difference to cashflow.

That's impressive! 30k+ is amazing 👏 but it sounds like it was a lot of hard work. We're planning to do this as a one-off round of pre-orders to bridge the gap while production gets re-established, focusing on just one product. Hopefully that helps to keep it straightforward (or so we hope 😅).

Useful to know the incentive you offered too. We've been toying with % off, or offering gift with purchase, so they receive something straight away while waiting for the pre-order. Thanks for sharing!

Hey all, hope I'm popping this into the right chat.
Does anyone have experience with pre-orders and waitlists? We’ve got almost 600 guys on an organic waitlist for our next model, which is set to release in mid-September. We're considering opening up pre-orders to give them an exclusive offer and first access.
Is it too early to start pre-orders now, or should we wait until we're less than a month out from shipping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
