Hey all, hope I'm popping this into the right chat.
Does anyone have experience with pre-orders and waitlists? We’ve got almost 600 guys on an organic waitlist for our next model, which is set to release in mid-September. We're considering opening up pre-orders to give them an exclusive offer and first access.
Is it too early to start pre-orders now, or should we wait until we're less than a month out from shipping? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

yess core advice to be pessimistic with timing!

We did Kickstarter+Indiegogo first, and that was pretty smooth. But doing it on our website meant we attracted a lot of non-crowdfunders, and they didn’t fully get it.

at the same time the 20% discount in the preorder store made “normal” customers feel like they got a worse deal.

So now when we can finance the production ourselves we just decided to make the buying process simpler and get higher profitability instead of cashflow (due to no deals)
