Its a shame, he is only young is such a talented marketer but unfortunately put marketing ahead of NPD. Shaky foundations and because he was smashing it competitors started looking into it. Tough one for the brand to come back from but I am sure he will.

We try not to not make the stretch too big to make sire there is appetite there always.
There have been cases where it has been smashed due to an unforeseen listing or launching NPD which requires a big pipefill of product. All good problems to have.
We also try to give good foresight on salary and attach an increase to revenue targets (salary increase also has other KPIs attached)

We sit down at the start of the financial year and agree forecasts. We have a base and a stretch forecast.
We give 10% of salary as bonus. 5% when the base is hit and 5% when the stretch is hit.

Good morning, has anyone used recharge to add free gifts for subscribers? And did it materially improve LTV? We are looking to add free gifts or discounts on the 2nd, 4th and 6th orders. Any other LTV boosting ideas welcome.

@Anders Reckendorff not sure if you are in the UK, but we approached much the same way to begin with before then onboarding with selected wholesalers. Getting a good wholesaler is a bit of cat and mouse in terms of they will take you on once they think there is volume, but once you are in they can accelerate quite quickly to their network. The downside is the margin but the upside is the simplicity in the supply chain and volume if you get it right.

Another thing alot of brands forget about is staff support and education so we spend alot of time giving attention to the in store staff and giving them the tools and information to recommend our products. We try to make them an extension of our sales team in a way.

Aside from the usual marketing that you have to agree to in order to land the listings, the cherry on the cake is usually supporting on social media. We try to utilise our partnerships with professional sports clubs to get well known faces into stores showcasing the product and tap into their followings. We are also scaling up our in store sampling which they really like.

For anyone interested in getting into retail in the UK please just shout as we have great contacts in the likes of H&B, Boots, Sainsburyās, Wholefoods, Tesco and multiple gym chains.
Relationships are key and it takes a lot of time to push them over the line. From first contact with the buyer to listing in Holland & Barrett it took us around 10 months (depending on their ranging windows). But we kept knocking on the door constantly pushing our USPās and how we could drive increased footfall so as not to be cannibalistic to the categories we were entering.
Showing clear strategy as to how you set yourselves apart from established brands and how you will support with ATL marketing are the key levers we pull on to get listings over the line.
As mentioned just shout if you are interested to hear more and if I have a contact I will introduce you to buyers.

My name is Dom, I played rugby professionally for 15 years all over the world but mostly in England.
I am now co-founder with another rugby player of fourfive (our jersey numbers when we played rugby). We create natural, no nasties supplements for people looking to take control of their everyday wellness regimes to confidently live life to the max š.
