that’s interesting, for us it’s the exact opposite. We cannot attribute it to Meta or emails, but every year in mid-April early May revenue climbs 50% compared to Q1.

We always attributed to people being happy and positive due to the good weather, and hence wanting to spend money and update their wardrobe.

However May+June also require significantly more edgy content than the rest of the year. Because people have less screen time and patience. So we always do the most bombastic stuff at this time. PR pushes, celebrity collabs, wild hooks about how you can die from bad sleep etc. 😛

we use Monta, I see Plankton having a killer setup there. It also works well for fashion like us, but I think your economics are different 🙂

#ask-the-community - April 09, 2025 at 01:23 PM

yeah thats no problem, but we own fabrics and tags and buttons ourselves, that wasnt possible back then

#ask-the-community - April 08, 2025 at 02:51 PM

maybe they could be a fit for you?

#ask-the-community - April 08, 2025 at 02:51 PM

before that we tried to set up Inventory Planner, but back then we felt it was a bit too focused on brands with huge amount of SKUs. And they also didnt have the functionaility for handling raw materials, which we also buy in bulk ourselves

#ask-the-community - April 08, 2025 at 02:35 PM

not sure I love it yet, but then again I never loved any ERP

#ask-the-community - April 08, 2025 at 02:34 PM

We set up Prediko

#supply-chain - April 08, 2025 at 07:15 AM

this is brilliant!

#growth-and-marketing - April 07, 2025 at 04:11 PM

thats a great reference!

Good meta-analysis of studies on the role of creative vs media planning and buying in driving business outcomes. The conclusion is that both are important yet creative has a bigger effect. Worthy to read the summaries of all the studies https://img1.wsimg.com/blobby/go/6586ee04-5a18-4617-88f5-5ac63bc5b39d/Creative%20and%20Media%20March%202025.pdf

brilliant job description, would love a talent like that in our team

#growth-and-marketing - April 01, 2025 at 12:52 PM

aMER and CAC, from Tripplewhale, I don’t know anything more annoying than agencies or freelancers drowning me in blended numbers or only looking at platform data 🫠

#linkedin-love - March 27, 2025 at 02:48 PM

thanks! 😄

#growth-and-marketing - March 24, 2025 at 05:13 AM

this year we already got tens of thousands of survey responses and 50+ personal interviews this year.

Even if we didn’t use the data it would still be worth it, because surveys are a perfect excuse to give outgift vouchers of €20, resulting in great revenue without the normal brand and pricing dilution stemming from discounting.

We use the data to:
• Find influencers (we ask what channels they watch on youtube, travel bloggers they follow, etc.)
• Find the name of our new womens line (the engagement was insane and the winner gets an outfit and is features in the newsletter)
• Assess the interest in crowdfunding
• Test new product concepts from the production team. If a new idea (e.g. fart-proof underwear) cannot get >30% interest then I force my product team to park it. If it gets >60% we will launch it no matter how little we believe in it ourself (e.g. backpack, which didnt sell well in the end)
• We also ask practical questions - e.g. before launching our Danish office+store we ask the Danish customers if they can recommend a bookkeeper, a real estate agent, if their kids wanna work part-time in the store, etc. (even if we get no leads out of it the engagement is insane and the majority of customers love helping a brand they like so much they actually open the newsletters and take the survey)

#tech-stack - March 20, 2025 at 02:15 PM

amazing tip! We still only pay €99 per month for Motion for some reason

#growth-and-marketing - March 17, 2025 at 10:41 AM

we ask customers/investors or native friends

#growth-and-marketing - March 17, 2025 at 08:36 AM

We always prefer a student worker for local customer service + translations + content. Often they study communication or management and they do a writing case before they start. We give them 8-15h per week.

If the country is new they do customer service in English too, until local ticket+translation volume increases

#ask-the-community - March 12, 2025 at 12:25 AM

damn that looks nice!

#linkedin-love - March 10, 2025 at 07:42 AM

thats such a nice article, congrats! What a nice journalist, maybe I will get Lotte to pitch margreet anches with a similar story 🙂

#ask-the-community - March 07, 2025 at 01:53 PM

@Jenni Bailey - Calla shoes Attentive also looks interesting! But isnt it quite expensive when you choose all the relevant modules?

#ask-the-community - March 05, 2025 at 11:12 AM

We are also looking to move away - Klaviyo has been very good for us, but its also clear since the IPO that they are moving towards being a CRM system and are very focused on enterprises. So its better for us to move to a platform that has a brand like ours front and center of their product dev.

Omnisend I wanted to test for a while, if any of you use it let me know 🙂

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 06:42 PM

Yeah that makes sense. We would do bank transfers

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 05:17 PM

nice Kunal, thats what I was thinking about too, just never saw it live.

That means payment terms and discount levels are set per account, and you can give them 30 days and let them pay via bank transfer later?

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 12:50 PM

very cool!

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 12:50 PM

then its even more annoying, sorry to hear it! I checked it daily myself until we had a growth manager. I still do it 3-4 times a week. I have my own tracking set up in Triplewhale, instead of relying on what the agency shows.

Do you have third party tracking like that? Then you can catch weird spikes in CAC or MERs in a minute, via your phone in the morning 🙂

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 12:46 PM

Guys do any of you run a B2B store on Shopify Plus?

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 12:45 PM

How shitty! Sometimes this happens because of Meta glitches - we got a voucher back 2 times from Meta in the past, due to similar situations.

I hate to say it though, but often its a question of account structure and catching overspending early on. Unless its a META glitch I’d say it’s always the responsibility of your in-house marketing chief to assess the campaign structure and performance on a daily basis.

#ask-the-community - March 03, 2025 at 07:51 AM

Sounds like a Wild setup! What are you aiming to pay per month for this? Our accountant is amazing, but if it’s less than €2k it wouldn’t make sense for them

#meta-ads - February 27, 2025 at 10:18 AM

I think thats a much better metric? But I think I cannot set that up in Triplewhale?

#meta-ads - February 27, 2025 at 10:17 AM

how is your “1000 people reached” cost compared to Q1 2024?

#meta-ads - February 27, 2025 at 08:48 AM

maybe its because you are not in enough videos anymore 😄

Just checked for Meta and YTD we are at €6.22 compared to €7.01 lfl, so that’s -11.2% YOY (on 70% higher spend). This is NL+DE+DK. Same number of campaigns and assets.

Maybe its because you had an exceptionally good Q4?

#tech-stack - February 20, 2025 at 02:02 PM

wauw! May I ask what you pay for this? My growth manager had a call with another tool that does exactly this + more, Storyclash, but it’s quite expensive, €1100 p/m

#supply-chain - February 19, 2025 at 05:06 PM

we went with Prediko. If I was sourcing again now I would also look into Hakio.com !

#growth-and-marketing - February 16, 2025 at 12:49 PM

following

#growth-and-marketing - February 07, 2025 at 04:33 PM

I also just saw it from my friend, wauw! Game-changer. But its totally crashed now due to all the new signups 😂

#growth-and-marketing - February 07, 2025 at 08:19 AM

but yeah no way Im paying €1k up front without testing!

#growth-and-marketing - February 07, 2025 at 08:19 AM

IMO the $1000 price tag is one of the biggest assets - its cheaper than all the other tools we use for marketing, right? I bet the price will get much higher as soon as they have traction.

#growth-and-marketing - February 07, 2025 at 08:11 AM

This sounds very wild, great investors. Did any of you test it yet? [icon.me](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kennandavison_excited-to-introduce-icon-the-first-ai-admaker-ugcPost-7292601252360716290-D6eU>

Highlights:
<http://icon.me) is like ChatGPT + CapCut, but for making winning ads with AI in minutes.

How it works:
1. Icon looks at your video library & tags scenes (e.g. “close-up,” “unboxing”). These scenes become reusable clips used as lego blocks for making ads.
2. Prompt Icon’s AdGPT to generate scripts focused on specific angles & audiences.
3. Icon finds perfectly matching clips for every script scene & generates an ad that is 80-99% complete.
4. Make edits with our CapCut-like video editor until you’re happy.

#growth-and-marketing - February 04, 2025 at 10:45 AM

if its Meta I think my growth manager is super eager to skill share. He is testing a lot of new things right now

#ask-the-community - February 04, 2025 at 09:40 AM

if it means Temu and Shein gets a harder time, I think it benefits the American DTC sector

#ask-the-community - January 29, 2025 at 10:15 AM

you need a DAM 🙂 We use Focal

#ask-the-community - January 28, 2025 at 10:47 AM

Actually I think my CS manager is ready for it. She has been in the role for 5 months now I think, and there are 6 student workers in her team.

#introductions - January 27, 2025 at 08:56 PM

very cool to have you on board!

#ask-the-community - January 27, 2025 at 08:55 PM

such a cool concept!

#executive-strategy - January 27, 2025 at 08:53 AM

I think its better to do smaller and more frequent rounds, so there is always an event to look forward to for people on the investor waiting list. We hit the max funding of €1m within a week, so then we know the waiting list will be buzzing for when we 1 year from now send an email and say “for a limited time we open up for new investors” 🙂

#executive-strategy - January 27, 2025 at 08:52 AM

I think it would work well for your brand!

We have always had 0% commitments before launching. Angels typically want much lower valuations than you can get in crowdfunding. It’s much easier for the platforms when you already have pre-commitments. But I see so many campaigns with 80% pre-commitments, that hope it will get the ball rolling, but then they don’t truly activate their communities and end up with very little additional funding on top of the angels. From the outside it looks like a nice round, but in reality it was just a normal funding round plus 20% extra from fans.

#growth-and-marketing - January 24, 2025 at 11:08 AM

thanks 😄 I think the best way to get young hot creators interested is to show good vibes and a chill work environment
