Hi everyone, Does anyone know if it’s possible to charge customers an additional fee for using a specific payment method? We’ve noticed a significant increase in returns for orders paid with Klarna, and we would like to add an extra charge of €1.95 for customers who choose this payment option. I haven’t been able to find any documentation on this – has anyone come across a solution?

@Sierd Zijlstra I would be interested too! We are on shopify

It is indeed not allowed in EU. It is typical behavior to see BNPL customers to have higher return rates, they can try products w/o having a cash out. Probably really depends on the vertical you are in and the brand equity you have whether it adds to your bottom line. We have tested it tremendously and for us it still adds value. We optimize with profiling in checkout i.e. blacklisting serial returners, not showing BNPL scheme's for customers that we know are also buying without the method in the checkout, altering the order of payment methods, etc.
