Hi, anyone got experience building backlinks? Not by using PR or paying a service to do it, but doing it properly?

I used to do a lot back in the day and broken link building was the most effective. It really depends on the industry though. Most strategies now try and do 'digital PR' which you can do in-house if you have interesting data, it's just time consuming.
Do you have an approach in mind? Happy to talk through ideas

We're selling wines and spirits. Digital PR is expensive but I'm using free tools to get editorial coverage. The only problem is that it's very sporadic. I'd like to use a method that can achieve a few backlinks every month. I'll look into broken link building. Anything else you'd recommend?

like HARO? There are some Ai add ones for HARO which can help automate it more.
Broken link building could work if you can find wine and spirit companies that have gone out of business and their domains are now dead. Might work with physical stores that have closed but had websites and local sites were linking to them. You can automate parts of BLB with outreach tools etc.
• Resource links - sites that have where to buy xyz?
• Could you do a data piece on celebrity owned alcohol companies and try and get people to link to that?
