Hi Rachel, we do pre-orders every year for next season's line. We open pre-orders from September and our stock doesn't usually land until end October, early November. Great way of getting additional revenue through the door before the stock lands.
Only advice I would give is if there are stock delays, ensure you communicate this with your customers in a friendly, human way. They can handle delays as long as they are kept in the loop! The issue we had in the past is where we didnt communicate in enough and customers got fed up of waiting!

Thanks Nick! Yes exactly, great way to get the revenue rolling. Cool it sounds like we'll be fine with our timeframe then. Great to know on the delays too...always a risk, but will over communicate if it happens. Thats a lot!

Hii @Rachel Lorenzon - HEiST if you are using Shopify I recommend this app "Amai PreOrder Manager + Notify" it has all the options of "Notify me when available", Pre order and also automatic notifications about date changes, stock arrival, etc. I've been using it for two years and it works well!

We've been using Purple Dot to manage our pre orders and around 20% of our revenue comes from pre-orders. Highly recommend them as they are a very friendly company and onboarding is super simple - happy to show you around our dashboard if anyone wants to see how it works and make an intro too x

Thanks @Jess Bardanca and @Jenni Bailey - Calla shoes. Will be looking at apps/tools next so will check these out!
