I went to one of these events hosted by Rhett and there was useful stuff. The head of marketing at Portland Leather Goods ($100M ARR) talked about managing Meta ads.

I used Kickbooster during my campaign and that was pretty good.
For the prelaunch I followed the Launchboom method for my list, asking people to make a $1 reservation for VIP status. Really good for evaluating ad costs and estimating how much traffic you can bring to the campaign at launch.

Yeah well said! I try to pay attention to where Meta puts the money.
Even if that ad has a low ROAS consider, it might print people into the top of the funnel and help set up the other ad sets for good conversion.
Thinking of Meta as a smart person showing ads in the most effective manner possible.

You want to make sure you dont take away an ad that might be helping Meta do it's job of converting people into purchasers.

I ran a 7 day test with "website plus shop" and half my link clicks went to Shop (measured by "unique outbound clicks" vs "clicks"). My shop product listings do a poor job educating the customers, and I saw zero sales (vs 5 on my website). Unless your brand is well known, I think website only is better because you can make sure potential buyers get enough information to decide to purchase.

Great advice! I like the idea of a curator / review page for promotion. Do you mean create a new social account? A new web domain? Both?

Oh, interesting - hot water! Yeah, the kickstarter route lets you fully test a product idea and even receive funding before you need to place an order. Very handy for bootstrapping. One person recommended I max out a few credit cards for ads during the campaign since you get the money when it ends...
