Our products are fairly large and heavy. Shipping to places like Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico is pricy. Should we only offer free shipping to the contiguous 48 states? Or should we just eat the cost when shipping to the states further away?

I tend to agree with @Chad Michael Carleton - assume the price point is high too? If so, they can afford it too!
I've seen large/bulky (premium) DTC brands like Thuma have a large cliff for free shipping - in their case it's $1,500+
