Help! I need some super tactical advice on a BOGO offer that Shopify has no solution for...nor Recharge.

We want to offer a "buy X get Y FREE" deal with both a one-time AND a subscription option.

Easy enough on the one time...

BUT, for the subscription, how can we ship items X AND free item Y only on order #1, THEN on all recurring orders, only ship item X ( we do not want to send the free item on a recurring basis).

Seems so simple and commonplace, I'm kinda surprised how tricky it's been to find a solution that doesn't require custom development.

ANY advice is so very much appreciated. Thanks!!!

I think Skio has an option to do that

Thanks guys! We use Recharge at the moment, so switching platforms isn't an option. Thanks for weighing in though.
