How do you guys A/B test landing pages with Meta ad traffic? I assume duplicating ads and simply giving the new ad a new URL, isn’t the most optimal way.
Let’s say I have 5 various landers I want to test for the same ad - advertorial, listicle, hero product lander etc. How should I go about testing them?

Easiest way is with a split URL test using a split testing app. The important thing is that you need to isolate the tests inside their own campaign in Meta with optimizations turned off. Otherwise your split testing (which tries to maintain a fair 50/50 split or whatever you set the split to) is going to compete with the Meta algorithm which tries to find the best converting ads. I’ve seen brands have their ads turned off by Meta or even get flagged for violations because the algo can’t figure out what’s happening and gets mad.

Don't do in platform split teste be it duplicating or even using AB test feature. This doesn't gives you a proper isolation always to post click test

Have the ad run to a specific URL and then split the URL traffic itself.
That’s what we do for our split tests. Never had any issues with Meta.

Thanks guys!

@Luka how do you execute this? I mean do you use some third party apps or is there a different way?

@Krishna Rana Any split test tool like VWO or alternatives

We’re don’t use Shopify but there for sure are Shopify-specific apps for it

I would definitely encourage folks to use Shopify-centric apps for this if you're on Shopify. Doesn't have to be us (though I certainly hope folks give us a try). Always happy to help.
