Hey guys, was curious how much website speed actually effects conversion? My sites a bit slow i think…. but will it really help conversions? Would love to her what yall experienced. Also, what are some things a person with no code experience can do to make it faster.

Page load is a part of the user experience, and improving UX will improve the CVR. Especially for new customers or the customers of similar product. Better UX will reduce the friction for sure.
Shopify gives a brief instructions to improve the performance(see the attached screenshot). Definitely there are a few things that you can do without dev help.
Developer will look into FCP, LCP, CLS, and etc. scores, and will improve the speed accordingly.

@Tony Zheng just out of curiosity, what are your loading speeds? (and how exactly are you testing the speed?) Ours is slow as well.

i just used a random one i googled. and it said. slow hahaha. personally when i open it on various computers / phones i do notice a lag. doesnt need a tester to find out

I think for most ppl the problem is landing page builders will always slow down the site. But for us we can’t do without them. So it’s a necessary evil

Yes, the landing page apps are heavy, and will impact the load time, that's why either you have be very picky before installing app, and adding the necessary apps/scripts, keep your light and clean or run standalone landing pages on headless architecture.

or build shopify pages with the theme sections or custom sections without any app. Apps are built for masses, and will try to satisfy everyone needs.
This is an example of standalone landing pages on headless architecture, and it has nothing to do with the primary Shopify store:
Also AGdrink is a headless store, they are only using the checkout for the shopify
?

<@U083JMLSQ23> 2.1 sec. is that concerning? is it a problem i should look into? resources are limited as always so im not sure if we wanna spend the money on this.

thats an interesting take Liz Reuth thank you !

<@U083JMLSQ23> I guess we got work to do? 😬
We’re using Gempages for all landers, collection pages and PDPs..

<@U083JMLSQ23> thanks!
Meta will send better quality traffic.
- hadn’t thought about that!Personally I'd create a page directly on shopify.
- so via custom code? or within theme builder with limited design options?
