Anyone know an easier way to test PDP gallery images? Tried using Shoplift, but it's not user-friendly at all.
@Teddy Medina can help you here
So sorry you had this experience. Any chance we could take a look Natalie? I’ll ask our team to reach out.
Support told me I need to use JS or Replo or custom code, I dunno
Hey @Natalie Bowman the easiest way would likely be to give the product all of the media that you want to test and then test code injection on the PDP, which will hide certain images in variant B and the other images on variant A.
The test itself can likely be done using Shoplift for or Intelligems.
Let me know and we can have a look at it for you!
Trying to do this without code! @Maxim Drkoš
Hey @Natalie Bowman there are definitely a few ways to do this as Maxim suggested. The reason it seems pretty technical is just due to how Shopify is constructed and what it allows (scope-wise) an A/B testing app to control on the A vs. B. I'm non-technical myself, so I get the desire to want to do this the no-code way. And frustratingly, lots of things that seem like they should be easy are actually hard on Shopify. (And some things that seem like they should be hard are actually super easy thanks to Shopify!)
Our success team would be happy to walk through how to set this up. I'm talking with them right now. I'm also asking them if they've seen any of our competitors make this potentially easier. I'd rather you be happy with A/B testing (even if it's not with us) than unhappy with our platform. What our customers tell us is that we are the most "user friendly" A/B testing app in the entire ecosystem, so my heart hurts when I read feedback to the contrary 💔
Understood, but thats very likely not possible, so just letting you know to save you time. The code itself doesnt have to be that hard to put together though and should work reliably.
The issue is the gallery always uses a lot of JS and other code that differs in all themes. Shoplift or Intelligems then have almost no chance of handling it in a no code way for you
LOL @Nick Selman I guess I thought you could just plug and play, by dropping in new images for the V2
Well, if you have to do it with code, we certainly can't do that on our own @Nick Selman @Maxim Drkoš
happy to look at it for you, otherwise maybe @Nick Selman can figure something out for you
@Maxim Drkoš sure! dm me!
I do split tests in Replo, or just directly in facebook ads
