What is everyone using for A/B testing now that Google has sunset Google optimize? All the paid options I know of are so expensive for smb 🥲

@Hristian Kambourov It’s tough to stomach 12k when previously Google optimizer provided it for free :(. Maybe an opportunity for a startup in this space

Hannah Pham November 16, 2023 at 07:23 AM

I see Convert starts at 500/month so maybe worth checking it out. Thanks!

Will check out Unbounce or Replo as well. We mainly want to do A/B tests on our website

Hristian Kambourov November 16, 2023 at 07:27 AM

I think you are missing the bigger picture here.

Would you spend 12K to make 100K? How about 12K for 500K? $1m? et.c

How much time and resources did you spend using Google Optimize? (no it's not just the cost of the tool)
• Analyst/Strategist
• Designer
• Engineer/QA
How much did you make back from using Google Optimize?

How much can you bring in optimizing your store/website?

All important questions you need to answer in order to determine the ROI of testing and experimentation.

I think your point makes sense if a paid option is the only option then yes, a cost benefit analysis makes a lot of sense. Here we simply are surveying what options are there, not saying paid is not worth it :)
