If you've ran cost caps, how much higher than the cap is a best practice for daily budget?

Depends - if you start the cap high go with a moderate budget - if you set the cap low or at CPA you can inflate this massively.

Cost caps can be dangerous at the higher end but bid caps are relatively safe but probably not as scalable.

The starting point is within a 7 day period, enough to generate 50 purchases a week.

So (CPA*50)/7 = daily spend minimum.

From that you can increase however

Also your cost cap will not be your business cpa or nCPA. It will be far higher.
