Hi everyone! I’m Parker Smits, based in Chicago. I have spent the last decade working in cloud infrastructure and DevOps. I recently became a new dad, luckily he's been the greatest sleeper so haven't been too tired the last few months!
What I’m working on:
• Founder at CirrusNorth Engineering, where I work on infrastructure and cloud strategy, particularly in regulated industries like healthcare, fintech, and government
• Helping organizations cut their cloud spend by up to half through simplification and modernization
• Mentoring early-career professionals through the Badgers in Tech program
• Packaging Model Context Protocol (MCP) tooling into the AWS Marketplace to make it easier for organizations to use/deploy MCPs.
How I can help:
• Deep experience with DevOps, AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud cost optimization.
• Happy to advise on infrastructure architecture, modernization paths, or scaling challenges
• Can share vetted everyday tools that I use to improve workflows
• Will connect and share others with my professional network
Why I was interested in joining Gildre:
• To connect with other founders and operators
• To share lessons from scaling infrastructure
• To stay close to what others are building and where they're running into friction
Where I could use support:
• Finding new onshore DevOps and marketing talent/referrals to continue growing
• Exploring new ways LLMs can drive automation in infrastructure workflows
• Always open to partnerships or collaborations where infrastructure is becoming a blocker
