has anyone here gone through the process of SOC2 and/or HIPPA compliance?

I've used dozens of tools and would recommend pitch.com - I also like beautiful.ai and for very certain use cases (not yours) gamma.app

you can use a low cost designer, but you might get a better output using a purpose built tool (pitch.com for example).

I personally own a (high priced) pitch deck design agency, but when I don't have time for proper design or if my team is too busy, I usually just use a tool

Here's the info straight from Stripe Atlas:
https://stripe.com/atlas

I've done it now 4 or 5x (for LLCs) and it's really great for me. Also with non US partners.
You end up with an LLC, business banking through Mercury, and Stripe with a lot of free credit in 10 days or less.

If you find it's a good fit and want a discount I can try and locate for you. And if you have specific questions from my experience, I'd be happy to answer

if you mean literally just the actual incorporation, you can use a service such as Stripe Atlas for $500. I get 50% off through some perks marketplaces making it $250. if you want this discount and can't access, feel free to PM and I can probably get one for you.

Hi Adam,

I started reviewing the deck but had some questions that impact the feedback. Sending you a DM

Hi Valentina,

Thanks for the response. I reviewed the links before writing you but had some questions:
1. What is the general scope for the position? I know it's hourly, but is it roughly half-time/quarterly, something else?
2. Is this an ongoing position or contract/time based?
3. When do you anticipate opening applications for Operations Director?
Thanks,

Sam

Highly recommended on Mercury as well. I have 3 small LLCs with them and have been banking with them for 4 years now (I have personal accounts with some other of the banks mentioned).

What I like:
Super simple and easy interface. Notifications for all transactions. Good customer support.

And super easy to open your account if you are using Stripe Atlas to set-up your LLC (if you haven't yet incorporated, feel free to reach out and I can explain)

I don't know this person specifically, but another point to consider: After 6 months you (usually) can't file a credit card chargeback. Most marketers know that- which means at that point you wouldn't have much recourse if he determines you aren't eligible for a refund (or just doesn't give you one).

Traction is definitely key to include.
Current vs future product- if it's an iteration/next stage, then yes, timeline is great for that and perhaps Vision as well. If you are doing a pivot then it's a little trickier and I'd need to see the specifics

Hi @Eugenio Bremer
I'm just getting back from Holiday. But if you share an updated version, happy to share some feedback in the coming days.

@ No I haven't 😉 But, you can use a Loom narration to put the focus on you telling the story and continue using the slides as a visual aid (as this is a self-described text-light version).

Sure

Hi @Tanho Attah hl.d

I just went through it briefly. Seems like a very important start-up!

Here are some areas for improvement:
1. For the problem, we want to make it more specific and more painful. Lose money and high prices are meaningless without context. Can we use stats/specific data to quantify this?
2. I don't understand the solution and product demo. If this is a send along deck, this needs to be crystal clear without narration
3. For business model, go for simple. i.e. We take 15-25% for each transaction made via our application. There always are multiple ways to monetize and naturally this will adjust as your company develops, but investors need to be able to readily understand the business model
4. Milestones should be presented as a simple timeline- much easier to digest and shows you both hit milestones and where your intended direction is
5. A few of the slides are quite text heavy and cover numerous ideas on one slide. If there is too much to digest on one slide, usually none will be digested.
On that note...I won't add too much more feedback 🙂

Two more important notes:
A. For design, you can get a much more visually appealing deck by using a better build platform. I'd personally recommend pitch.com
B. Double and triple check for typos and grammar mistakes. I noticed a few and I'm sure there are more (i.e. Solution slide - *A technology that allows anyone to farm instead of A Technology that allows anyone farm, and lowercase n for Nigeria on your Team slide).

Good luck!

Hey Gildre Crew,

I'm Sam- born & bred in New York, followed by a decade in Jerusalem before moving to Budapest, with my wife and kids in 2021.

I run Design For Decks, a boutique pitch deck design and education firm, where we've been lucky to work with impressive founders & investors helping them build winning decks used to raise upwards of $2.5b cumulatively.

Beyond pitch decks, I work with SMBs on marketing and operations for the past 8 years and have been mentoring founders through various start-up communities and events.

On the "lighter" side of things, I have a few useless degrees in politics and international relations, published a few research papers that no one has read (not even my Mom), spent some time in the military, and take advantage of any spare time I find exploring new destinations.

Looking forward to helping Gildre mentors and mentees with any of the following:
✔️Pitch-decks (advice & resources)- my bread and butter. I see way too many terrible decks, even from the most impressive of founders (and investors).
✔️Effective Outsourcing - specifically support & VAs. I have worked with numerous businesses on establishing and growing their offshore support teams + VAs (mainly in Philippines) and have built a guide and system that has proven itself over and over
✔️Online courses- I worked with companies helping them do over $20M in sales through email marketing, webinars, affiliate marketing, and sales funnels for online courses/programs. So I have decent experience there. But more than anything I care about the customer experience and how to make sure students can digest, grow, and enjoy their learning experience.
✔️Turning tasks into effective, scalable SOPs

Please don't be shy- I love connecting with and helping others where I can. I don't bite, and more importantly, I don't pitch (in founder communities).
