#08_advice-questions
Thread
Hey Gildre Titans!,
Need some advice or tips here. How have folks here been able to secure their first few beta and paid clients? I'm working on an idea using Gen AI for ordering at restaurants. It's been quite challenging securing just a beta client to run with as we develop an MVP. Wondering how y'all would do this. Also, any intro to owners of small-sized restaurants in the Austin area would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
@Johannon Olson has restaurant experience but unfortunately not in Austin might be able to add some context!
Usually the first best clients are people you know so I'd recommend talking to a restaurant or restaurants you eat at or have personal relationships with and use that as a launchpad.
@Ola George There's an old adage, "ask for a job you get advice, ask for advice you get a job". There's a lot to unpack on this about early stage sales: issues you'll encounter, generating awareness, sales process, ICPs, etc... But in short, starting with 'research' about clients sometimes leads to "yeah this is a problem I face, can I try your app?"
Thanks all. Y'all are amazing! Will definitely be reaching out to folks mentioned here.
yeah love that approach @Chip Royce I was going to recommend something similiar. Just reach out to folks who might have an issue with what you're solving them and probe. Build trust and mention what you're building. Let them sell themselves on the product.
