Thanks for sharing this Valentina. An important reminder from a fellow-workaholic that a founder's mental health has much more of an impact on the business than we realize.

Working 80 hour weeks are only as sustainable and effective when the energy and passion is there. Otherwise I've found it much more effective to work 60~ hour weeks at 110% capacity than 80+ hour weeks at 75%.

Volleyball, tennis, basketball and hockey are always my reprieve to reset!

Exactly! Those long weeks can be so much fun but borderline dangerous if we aren't managing our energy. Then before you know it... 😵‍💫

@Valentina thanks for this reminder, 100% relate with both the workaholic part, and… that 😵‍💫. What I’m doing this year- watching out for early warning signs so I can be more proactive. For me, the warning signs look like trouble sleeping, excessive caffeine intake, pacing and irritability.

That hyper-fixation you mention, fueled by passion for our what we do, makes it difficult to always realize when I’ve crossed that threshold into unhealthy energy levels, so my focus is to identify them at the earliest sign so I can immediately correct the imbalance.

Glad to hear you’ve bounced back, here’s to harnessing that energy, keeping the balance and crushing 2025! 🎉
