Hi Everyone,
My name is Robie and I’m from Houston, TX. My professional background to date is in the energy sector (consulting, GTM, strategy, finance), and I have a degree in Economics from Boston University.
• Fun fact: Once upon a time I swore I’d never cut my own grass. Now, one of the most satisfying things I do each week.
What I’m working on:
• Right now I’m building Gym Rat Inc full-time; we are working on our flagship product, MTRC which is a machine/equipment agnostic smart gym device (not a wearable) that enables consumers to seamlessly navigate the gym and crush their fitness goals 💪
• Currently mentoring an Electrochemicals startup based in NOLA, Renovigo Chemicals, through the Clean Tech Open Incubator
• Building MTRC is my passion project, as it’s allowing me to get back into the gym (former division 1 track athlete)
How I can help:
• I have a lot of depth in the energy (power, oil, gas, energy transition, decarbonization) sector. I’m fairly well-rounded in my knowledge from consulting, and could probably add insights on any number of markets (depending on what it is, though perhaps not to the same expertise level).
• I have connections through my network with AABE, Wood Mackenzie, Argus Media, ExxonMobil, and National Grid, among others.
• I am not a technical (engineering) expert, but from pretty much any other angle I could probably point you in a direction. I understand markets, go-to-market, demand-side framing, and raising capital and finance structures, among other things.
Why I was interested in joining Gildre:
• Connect with other founders and experts as we launch MTRC this year
• Help build support for areas of expertise that are outside of our current knowledge
Where I could use support:
• We are actively looking for a manufacturing partner for our product; we’ve begun engaging OEMs in the US and China, but haven’t had as much success as we’d hoped (especially with US OEMs)
• Looking to get more deeply plugged in with other entrepreneurs in the US, and within Houston
Looking forward to staying connected!
