Hello everyone! I'm Liam Foley a Finance Student (Freshman) at Binghamton University. I joined the community recently: early September. I'm interested in becoming an M&A attorney and maybe starting a business at some point. From my Junior to Senior Year of high school, I accomplished a lot, causing many to refer to me as a serial entrepreneur. I do not currently work at or run any official business, but as a high school upperclassman, I ventured through an entrepreneurship program, working with a group of 4 (turned into 3 after 1 transferred) to create an app similar to Duolingo but for career search. A big influence in this idea was the huge issue of students wasting so much time and money on college majors or careers that do not suit their interests. With Gen Z having low attention spans, it is hard to expect many to enjoy Googling careers for hours, which is why a gamified, Duolingo-like design would work best. I was the CFO of the company (Career Compass), and I learned how to successfully turn an idea into an Angel Investor-ready pitch, all within months. This company has been inactive since then, and it is not an official company. Senior year, I saw a need, executing it effectively with a proper solution. Going to a prep school (private high school), many students had parents who worked in the law and/or dreamed of becoming an attorney, so I created a club that grew to 90-members within 7 months. I also connected the club with guest speakers, organized a trip to Fordham Law, organized a Pinning Ceremony for 25 members, created a Law Course for seniors, and organized a variety of Mock Trial related activities (since it was only year 1, there were no official competitions). Additionally, I saw a need for alumni interaction in the STEM department (2nd Largest, behind Business), so I built up a speaker series for them. I have connected students at Don Bosco Prep with over 120 connections, and to start my time at Binghamton, I am constantly looking to take advantage of new opportunities. This year I have some plans to start a club that is related to international/general business, but the finalization (full university approval) is still months away (a long process).

If you would like to learn more about me, I encourage you to check out my LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/Lfoley28). Feel free to reach anytime, as I am willing to help with any requests. Although I check Slack, LinkedIn is usually a quicker response.

I look forward to building my network here.
