Hello everyone, I want to learn reactjs with some personal projects. Looking for a coding buddy to join and learn together. DM

Hello everyone, I'm looking to collaborate with a mobile developer (preferably cross-platform) that is interested to help me develop a slight variation of the clubhouse app. I'm the owner of an online community with over 90k followers and I need help to launch this app for them. This is an unpaid (until the app is build) co-founder & CTO role. DM me if you're interested in learning more.

Complete both the steps below to get access to Python and JS lessons for learning weekend. While signing up on Progate write your FULL NAME in the username, to receive the certificate with that name.

Hi all, I'm about to start a small web app, here's the pitch:
The user pastes a Youtube Link for a music, adding a new track on the page along with a player to read it. If the user adds a new link, it will add a new track on the page. Then the user can save the selection (a playlist), to display it again later.
-> There wouldn't be any user management, only adding Youtube Link, and saving playlists.

So, simple enough, but still, I would like to use React, Node, and GraphQL along the way. And if I already know React and Node I don't know GraphQL, so I'm not sure what to use. Looks like Apollo is the one, but, should I use only Apollo? Or should I use Apollo with a Node framework like Koa for example?
Thanks !

Ok. ML would be okay for me, too.

I read this medium article about a python analyzer tool and found this space?

I would love it if you can provide a guide on app development. I'm currently stuck in one and need your help. I created a set that would give different results when run. I want to turn this into an app.

Here's the channel: #ted-talks-analysis

Luiz Oliveira November 24, 2019 at 03:05 PM

Anyone related to data science and ML. Particularly for me, this one: A dataset of 2,656 TED talks, with metadata and transcripts.

If you are interested in building it along with some peers, join the #whatsapp-chat-analyser channel. There, you can ask me or your fellow learners all your doubts as you go through the project.

IMO this project presents a good opportunity to build something interesting, experience the difficult-to-grab programming intuitions and go from a basic Pythonista to an advanced one!

I have created a guide that you can follow to create a cool project - Whatsapp Chat Analyser. Here it is: https://dev.to/nityeshaga/advance-your-python-skills-by-building-a-whatsapp-chat-analyser-a-guided-project-6p9

Hey people,

Nityesh Agarwal November 04, 2019 at 07:12 PM

I present 20 project ideas in this article.

And this is where I need your help:
I intend to write detailed roadmaps that would help self-learners to build these projects yourself. Which project would you like me to do first? (Reply to this in a thread)

Nityesh Agarwal November 04, 2019 at 07:09 PM

I have written more about this in the article: "Fantastic Programming Project Ideas and Where to Find Them (a beginner-friendly version)"

Nityesh Agarwal November 04, 2019 at 07:04 PM

I have compiled a list of my go-to sources for getting project ideas:

devpost.com
kaggle.com
tinyletter.com/data-is-plural/
• and finally- you, yourself!

hey people,

I have seen that the biggest hurdle that prevents me and everyone I know from building stuff is a lack of ideas. Searching for "project ideas" on Google gets you things like a ToDo list app, a snake game, a calculator, an ecommerce website or a Titanic dataset analysis. But I want to work on something cool and unique. (don't we all?)

Welcome to the group! We would love to see what you work on. 🙂

Hi all! Looking forward to sharing what I work on here!

Hey people,

  1. Check out Build To Learn's Twitter profile - https://twitter.com/build_to_learn (I'm really proud of the logo 😁)
  2. Also, I'm starting a mailing list/ email newsletter - https://buildtolearn.substack.com - where I will post the latest updates (BTW I'll post all the updates here as well)

"Difficulties with self-learning and some systems to solve them" - https://www.buildtolearn.club/post/difficulties-with-self-learning-and-some-systems-to-solve-them

This is my latest article where I aim to address the very serious and neglected problem of motivation that self-learners face. Check it out and let me know here! 😃

Hey members of Build To Learn,

Thanks a lot for being a part of the learning community I tried to create with this Slack group.

The mission for creating this community was to help students learn programming by building "real-world projects". There are 2 major problems that newcomers face when trying to build software:
1. Coming up with the idea for project
2. How to break down the idea into concrete steps for implementing it

I had an extremely optimistic goal with this group - that maybe if I put a lot of people, who are interested in learning using projects, together in a group:
• members will be able to find people with complementary set of skills
• we will get lots and lots of cool project ideas and
• people will be able to form groups of people who can implement them and learn the necessary programming skills along the way

Yes, just like magic. Hocus Pocus! 😈

It has been 15 months since I created this group and I think, we can all agree that this is not a solution.

What I failed to realise was the simple fact that everybody is a beginner. Almost everyone was kind of lost and needed direction.

That is why I am transitioning this group to a guided community of self-learners where I am going to

  1. suggest some cool project ideas
  2. write detailed advice/tutorials/courses on how you can go about building it and learn the concepts along the way
  3. share cool, motivating stuff from inspiring people on the Internet

and we can all have discussions about them. (BTW, everyone is welcome to share any of the above resources with people in this community too.)

Cheers! @channel

Can I share my idea here?

Do you want to make a web application or an android application?
