Hello! Thank you @Nityesh Agarwal for this platform

Rishav Diyali December 13, 2019 at 08:40 AM

Anyone up?

Ranjani Rajamani December 09, 2019 at 04:58 AM

Hi I have downloaded Anaconda as the IDE. I shall start the work today

Rishav Diyali December 06, 2019 at 06:41 PM

Hey Nityesh. I'm done setting up my Python environment. Also I went through some tutorials of a YouTuber named CS Dojo. Still lot to cover but I'll get there soon.

Nityesh Agarwal December 06, 2019 at 05:44 PM

It's nearly weekend already. Let's do an update check. How far are you towards the milestone guys? @Rishav Diyali @Akhila @Nandan @Somya @Ranjani Rajamani and anyone else who is doing the project

Rishav Diyali December 05, 2019 at 05:11 PM

Hey guys I've downloaded two IDEs for the Python project viz. Anaconda and Pycharm. I searched a bit on Youtube and came up with them. Which one do ya'll suggest?

hi

Nityesh Agarwal December 05, 2019 at 06:30 AM

Great! 🙂

Somya December 04, 2019 at 05:22 AM

I'm in !

Somya December 04, 2019 at 05:03 AM

Yups, i thought it would be a gud project to learn this semester!

Nityesh Agarwal December 03, 2019 at 03:17 PM

IMHO Anaconda would be a little too much for this project.

Nityesh Agarwal December 02, 2019 at 06:59 PM

Alright, it's @Rishav Diyali, @Akhila, @Nandan for now. Anyone else? Please reply or add an emoji so people can know their building-peers!

Milestone #1 is mostly about getting your work environment set up. You can verify this by doing a simple Hello world -esque exercise:

Print "I love you 3000".. 3000 times.
Which IDE are you using?

Somya November 29, 2019 at 05:49 AM

Hey, I am Somya, a 2nd year Btech student from VIT bhopal. I have been recently studying machine learning and have a passion for Virtual reality. I found the idea of whatsapp chat analyser really cool, so here I am! 😁

Nandan November 29, 2019 at 05:21 AM

Yes

Nityesh Agarwal November 29, 2019 at 05:21 AM

How about we sync up and start building on Monday, 2nd December with a goal of covering 1 milestone/week?

This channel will provide us with a space to:
• Share updates on your progress with your peers in the channel
• Share resources (no code though) to help your peer co-builder
• Ask for help when you get stuck
Who all are in? @channel Reply or add an emoji to this thread.

Nityesh Agarwal November 29, 2019 at 05:14 AM

Hey @Dennis Oguah, we would love to have you complete this project. And it sure isn't a big ask.. that is what this channel is for! Hope to see you around here 😄

Dennis Oguah November 27, 2019 at 07:32 PM

Hi @Nityesh Agarwal I've learnt the basics of the python programming language and I would love to complete this project working with you guys. I just hope it won't be too big of an ask for me

Daniel Cohen November 27, 2019 at 04:54 PM

Hello,
I started working on the project yesterday, and I created a pandas DataFrame, where each row represents a message and holds the date, time, author, and the message itself. I wanted to ask - how should I plot the data? what modules did you use?

Willy November 27, 2019 at 01:34 PM

Hi @Nityesh Agarwal sorry I definitely need to activate my notifications.
As I was saying on #introductions-and-random I will be starting my path of learning Python I think in early December and I was thinking getting into project learning more in January...

Rishav Diyali November 26, 2019 at 06:22 AM

Next month- probably 8th.(That's when my exams ends)
@Nityesh Agarwal

Ranjani Rajamani November 26, 2019 at 06:09 AM

How do we go about this activity?

Ranjani Rajamani November 26, 2019 at 06:06 AM

@Nityesh Agarwal I would like to be a part of this activity.

Nityesh Agarwal November 26, 2019 at 05:39 AM

When will you be able to start it? @Rishav Diyali

Rishav Diyali November 25, 2019 at 05:38 AM

@Nityesh Agarwal count me in!

Nityesh Agarwal November 24, 2019 at 06:35 PM

What do you think about using this channel to share updates on each of the 10 Milestones that I divided the project into?

We can form a group, start together and aim to cover 1 milestone/week. The members of the group can be your peers to share and ask. And their progress will act as a motivator for you to keep going. Who's interested? @Willy @Vincent Mok @Sanjana @Nandan @Rishav Diyali
